The Borg are here.

Wanted to post this a couple of days ago, but I forgot. Interesting find about 10k LY fr Sol.

Obviously it's a graphics glitch, but it's fun to imagine that it's a cloaked borg ship.

That's no moon, that's a...sorry, wrong franchise.

It's obviously some sort of active camouflage system intended to let the Borg get inside of the bubble before being discovered.

You mean they've returned. [haha] Remember the big neon multi-coloured ones that would take up the whole sky a load of patches ago? Like someone removed a cartridge from the NES of life, and half the universe died a pixel-y death?

Not quite the Borg though and its working as intended, as each random part of the galaxy is created in cubes some with more bright visible stars than adjoining cubes hence the cube of stars, I enjoy the cubes :) and anyone saying immmmmeeerrrsssiioooonnn breaking needs slapping with a fish.

0.54 for cubes

Borg ships bever cloaked in star trek, that is all i have to say. (i now hold my breath and hope i'm not proved wrong embarrassingly, i'm a serious star trek fan)

Seriously though as much as these star graphical glitches are fun to look at, it's a shame there are still so many in the game, i don't have any other complaints about ED, i suppose even i have to complain about something lol.

Working as intended.

It's not really, but to fix it would involve destroying the known universe and rebuilding it. While relatively minor for most of the ED community (aside from the obvious downtime) explorers would be mildly annoyed (to say the least) when the issue gets fixed and they find all their discoveries have been binned...

It's not really a bug, it's how the galaxy is procedurally generated. The cells overlap and in parts of the galaxy where the densities are similar it's not noticeable. It's only where the stars go from sparse to dense around the core do the anomalies show up.

Enjoy what stars you can see now, because the closer to Sagg A you get, the skybox bugs right out and you'll get nothing but a faint brown haze. That's clearly not working as intended as I had multicrew cmdrs join and comment on how many stars they can see, While I see none. It pretty much ruined a majority of the trip visually. Mode switching had a small chance to fix the look sometimes.

Why it's not a priorty for FD to fix is beyond me as Exploration relies alot on the visual aspect of Elite Dangerous.
