[INDEPENDENT] The Brotherhood of Terra Mater is recruiting

We are the third largest anarchy group in the game and one of the OG factions that has been around since the beginnings of time. BoTM was one of the pioneers of PMF (player minor faction) play when the feature was introduced into the game. We are based in our permit locked home system of Terra Mater and thereby control access to it. Nice feature, isn't it ?

As a modern anarchy full of fun loving smugglers and pirates we do have a code and some ground rules. Well, those are more like guidelines. In essence you can do as you please as long as you behave in a civilized way. Meaning don't give BoTM a bad name by acting ignorantly. We have no direct enemies and are either allied or have cordial relations to all PMFs and Powers in our neighborhood and beyond.

Our assets:

  • between the Brotherhood of Terra Mater and our adopted secondary faction, the Dragons of Nastrond, we are present in 33 systems and control 27 of those
  • we control 2 permit locked systems (Terra Mater & Nastrond) and 2 rares (Terra Mater Blood Bores & Live Hecate Sea Worms)
  • although small in numbers (for now) we have a large and lively community going on in our discord with a bunch of allies and diplomats present
  • lots of goals to keep you going / be it BGS, diplomacy, piracy, PvP or PvE, exploration, getting rich, learning the game or just chilling ... / whatever floats your boat
  • a wheelbarrow

Hello, there!

Do you know where can I pick up the permit mission for Terra Mater?

I just became ally but the mission won't show up at Cadomosto Prospect in G 69-11.

Hey I'd like to join if you are ok with older player who might have more than one question to ask (still learning the game)

You're all welcome to just join our discord as a visitor first, before you decide if you want to join. Same goes for every commander sympathetic to our cause who prefers to stay independent while making a home in our neck of the woods.

We like to coordinate with everyone in the neighborhood, and sometimes going rogue while helping BoTM ain't really helping since we do have some treaties we do adhere to.

About to retake our biggest system after we lost about half a dozen systems due to the Anarchy Apocalypse. Anyone interested in helping out one of the last remaining anarchies, just drop by our discord. All are welcome and there is always something to do around here.

We managed to retake all the systems we lost and also gained a new one. So up to 18 controlled systems now ! (y)

Still lookin for more commanders to help stabilize and grow our little bubble. Feel free to join our discord even if you're not ready to join. All anarchy supporters & sympathizers are more than welcome.

About to take another system and anyone willing to help win the war is more than welcome. This pure high tech system would complete our goal to be present in every economy.

Right now we have Agricultural x 4 - Extraction x5 - Industrial x4 - Refinery x4 - Tourism x2.

first of all - loving that someone takes care of an endangered rare.

second, out of interest: did you claim the npc brotherhood of terra mater faction as a player groups faction as SEPP did or Marquis du Ma'a five years ago when that was possible for a short timeframe? or are you simply doing it "oldschool" by having picked that minor faction to back and keep at it?

It was before my time, but BoTM was one of the first PMFs out there when it was possible to "adopt" a previously NPC faction. It's linked to our squadron since then and officially ours. About two years ago we added the Dragons of Nastrond as a proxy by simply claiming them on Inara. I guess we are the last remaining anarchy bubble in the core area around Sol.

Is the game too easy and you're looking for a challenge ? You want to save the whales anarchies ? ... or do you simply want to join the cool guys and be a pirate ?

The Brotherhood can offer you all that and more. You'll never run out of things to do with nearly 30 systems in need of loving care. Join the Brotherhood today !

Hey there! I've done a bunch to help The Brotherhood over the past year or so (I've been allied for awhile) in an effort to help keep free space free! I was just wondering what kind of rules your squadron employs? I'm looking for a renegade group to do some privateering with but I draw the line at ganking. Also, I find the ingame chat (text or comms) more immersive, though I will use discord when necessary, would that be an issue?

Sorry it took me a bit to come back to you. I don't check the forums on a regular basis. We use our discord as the main means of communication, be it with the bros, allies, diplomats, friends or visitors who are just passing through. Feel free to just drop by and check it out:

We are not big on rules besides what common sense dictates. There are no obligations either. We only draw the line when it comes to our diplomatic standing. With no enemies yet a lot of friends and allies among a multitude of factions and powers, our non-intervention policy is of utmost importance. Meaning we simply don't stick our nose in other factions business unless they directly ask for help or mediation.

We have officially expanded our brand to PlayStation (tag - b0tm) as well. The PersonalComputer (tag - botm) branch remains our main brand, but any console players left out there are free to join now as well. If there is interest, even Xbox might be an option in the future.
