The Bubble need a junkyard

Greetings CMDRs,

I don't know if this is the right way to ask for this, but not knowing if there is a "direct" way I suppose we will need the community support. I represent a player group that have focused our "lore" on the profession of scrap dealing (yes, we like being scrap dealers, please don't judge us). The fact is that currently there is only one junkyard in the whole galaxy and it's in Colonia (more specifically is TolaGarf's Junkyard in Kojeara) and because of the number of people living in the Bubble and that the Colonia inhabitants have seen the need to have a junkyard, we would like that the community merge their efforts in getting a little more immersion in our Bubble.

We are not going to lie, one of the reasons we asked for a junkyard in the Bubble is to start our minor faction in it… but we will not ask for that if other factions had not achieved the construction of their asteroids bases. We understand that our group is much smaller compared with the previous cases, and that's why we need your help.

If you like our idea, help us reaching the developers! (and if you know a better way to do it, please comment it).

Thank you so much for your time.

Ha!

I was thinking exactly the same thing, ages ago, when I first started playing ED, after re-reading "The Dark Wheel".
That was long before I joined this forum though.

Could become quite a feature, if they made it a sort of orbital version of Dav's Hope, with various pick-ups floating around amongst the wrecked ships.

Great idea, it would give me somewhere to send all the engineered weapons I end up stripping off my ships every time we have one of FDev's now legendary balancing passes. :D

In more than name, a junkyard mechanic would be excellent.

Random inventory. Cut rate pricing on modules with half the hit points, and say a 50% integrity cap, even fully repaired, and prone to malfunction. Find the odd gem in there from time to time.

Could be an interesting trade-off in the early game for new players, or a reason to open a 2nd account.

Uoh! That's a great idea, but let's do this the step by step, hehe

Great suggestion. Our universe needs to be filled up with more interesting things especially in the bubbles.

I'd give this idea two thumbs up: [up] [up]

Would love to float out there in an EVA pack and pick up that perfectly good fusion starter for that 3057 Chevy I have in the hanger.

Seriously, it would be fun to have random little things you could find there to patch up your ship with or take to an engineer and have it tweeked a bit.

Could add a scavenging component to the game, jump into a combat aftermath uss and have a chance of finding modules of different qualities. Not just uss but after every kill or every shipwreck there's a drop chance.

A scrapyard? Sounds like honest work for the workers of the people. I approve, but only as long it's eerie.

You mean having someone like "Edgar, the guy who tends the junkyard" patrolling the area yelling "Hey, you kids! Get outta here before I blast a hole in ya!" Edgar is a tad unstable if he's had too much to drink.

Good Idea.

That's why it won't be done. :)

I used to think that, as I posted several ideas and nothing happened, but I was gone for a year and when I returned, several of my ideas were now part of the game, ideas like a clearing house for warrants and bounties, now you get the interstellar contact, and storing modules (now you can) and transferring ships (now you can). Surely other people had these wishes as well, but it's wrong to say FDev doesn't implement good ideas. I'm still waiting to be able to be transported to a station of my choice, without my ship, just to pick up another ship of mine or to buy one. Using that method, you'd not be able to spam missions or anything else, you just pay for transport and it happens. Then you pick up at the new place. There'd have to be a timer to prevent exploits.
