yes, but chill.
just maybe he is on to something. do generation ships show up on the FSS? it would be totally FD to have a 52/52 scanned system and some little oddity indication, that further analysis is needed.
The Honk doesn't show stations or generation ships, USS or POI as bodies, if it says 52 then there are 52 stars/planets/moons, no more, no less. Anything else, including asteroid clusters, show up as signals in the Honk, and signals in the FSS.
some little oddity indication
Yes, these are called signals in the Honk and FSS, they show USS, POI, NSP, ships, stations, Fleet Carriers and other unidentified objects that are detected during the initial honk. Alien surface sites, biology and geology show up when you FSS the planets and moons.
There's no chill here, this is how it works, this is how it has always worked, if it says 49 of 52 bodies then he has missed 3 bodies, planets or moons that are out of the orbital plane and difficult to spot without doing a proper scan of the surrounding space using the FSS. If there are bodies I can't find I center the FSS on the primary star, just in case it's hiding behind the star, always check that, then from the star with the FSS focused on the line in the signal do a full sweep up/down, if you don't spot it then do a full sweep left/right, then both diagonals, this will always suffice to show the missing bodies.
Bodies are only 3 things, stars, planets and moons, that's it, that's all.
