We could try reducing the resolution Planet Coaster displays at using the Gameplay settings window.

1. In Planet Coaster, click the gear icon on the top right.
2. Click the Graphics tab.
3. Set Screen Mode to Fullscreen.
4. Change the Resolution to one of the following ratios. Your Lenovo b50-35 has a native resolution of 1920x1080. We want to try for the same 16:9 ratio so use the following options:
1600x900
1366x768
1280x720

5. Click Apply.
6. Try the game. The picture won't be as sharp, but hopefully the frame rate will be smoother.

See how that is.

That same Graphics tab also has the Effect Settings preset. If the above doesn't fully help. Try changing this effect preset to low.

Posting this for reference, I am running the game on a i5 3210U and a GT 630m at about 10-15 fps with 1.6k peeps at a lower resolution. (I will be upgrading soon!)

i have now ran a 6700k, 4790k and a 6600k all with 16 gb of ram and a gtx 1070, i have not noticed any difference in any of them in planet coaster,if you are on a budget get a 6600k and planet coaster will run fine on high settings.go with the 6700k if you can afford it.for the ones that don't plan on buying the game until release, wait for the 7700k, it will be out by the end of the year.i imagine there will be a 7600k as well.

Okay here are my specs:

Windows 10 64 bit
Intel Core i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40 GHz
8 GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce GT 755M

I know the graphics card isn't awesome, but I won't be able to afford another computer for about a year or so. I don't care if the game isn't super pretty, I just need to know if it will run at all. I want to preorder while the price is still $30 USD, so any advice would be appreciated!

"Max settings" is unrealistic. The 960M is a mobile graphics processing unit (GPU). It is unfortunately a lot slower than the desktop 960, so this 960M won't meet your expectation of "max settings". If someone really wants a budget laptop the minimum I recommend is this 960M because it sort of matches the minimum desktop graphics card that Frontier recommends. This is for the minimum setttings. Laptops really just aren't for gaming unless you spend lots of money ($1,200+) and get something with the 970M or the 980M.

The new Nvidia GPUs for laptops are coming out soon. Manufacturers have been unveiling their new laptops recently. The 1060 would be a huge step up from this 960M if you can wait a bit. I'm not sure what the prices are coming in at for these new laptops -- I just haven't looked it up, and I'm sure there will be a premium for awhile.

The most obvious difference between the Low and High settings is the shadows. Setting it to low looks "flatter".

In Alpha 2 a better GPU definitely helps. Though if 2 people have the same GPU, the one with the faster CPU will have a bit higher of FPS. We will find out soon what performance changes Alpha 3 brings!!![up]

Ah thanks for the reply. This game is the only reason I need a gaming laptop ( I'm more of a console gamer). So I'm not looking to spend a ton on a gaming laptop.

After doing more research Ive heard positive things about 960m running planet coaster. As you mentioned, I won't be necessarily always on high quality.

Thanks

Please be aware I'm not aiming for good FPS, I just want to know if I can run the game. I'm aware I am under minimum requirements. It's not the first time. I can run a couple of games under minimum requirements. For reference, I can run Elite: Dangerous very well, and I just meet the minimum requirements for it. Here are my specs:

DESKTOP PC
CPU: AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor 3.60GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit
AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series
Screen resolution: 1440x900

A quick reply would be nice, i'm probably going to buy the early bird pass before it goes off sale.

Maybe in 720p Low everything settings with less than 2.500 park population. You really need a high end pc to run this game well.

I would highly recommend a GTX980ti for those of you who can't afford the new 10 series. It can be picked up really cheap these days and it runs the game like a dream... [up]

So question, getting a new PC isn't a option and currently i'm running a decent sized park between 10-14 fps at pretty low settings. Looking to get that fps up with low/medium settings. Processor is a AMD A8 7600 Quad core 3.1GHZ, 16GB ram and currently i have a Integrated Radeon R7. My question is the graphics cards options. based on the location of my memory cards my space is limited to a chip under 7 inches. Im also trying to stay under $200 ideally. Like i said i'm not looking for great graphics i'm just looking for better playability. Any ideas for cards that would be a upgrade?? Thanks!
Edit: Any thoughts on the EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti SC 2GB??

Maybe try an AMD RX480 I think its called. Introduced this year, it matches the performance of like a GTX 970. MY AMD R9 390 is better than the GTX 970 as it has a higher bandwidth twice the amount of vRam and a bigger bus.

Hi, my computer is really struggling to run this game. I run it on low settings and am only getting 7-9 fps. The graphics is all pixelated too and it's really frustrating to play.

I run on Windows 10 64 bit
Amd A6 6400k dual core @ 4.10GHz
8gb RAM
AMD Radeon HD 8470D

I don't know much about computers. Is my computer not good enough? Should I upgrade anything on it?

Will Planet Coaster work on my laptop?

I only have 6.00GB installed ram and an AMD A10-9600 Radeon R5, 10 COMPUTE Cores 4C+6G 2.40 GHz processor.
Will my laptop be able to support Planet Coaster?
I saw that it required 8.00GB ram.
Novice here.

Both of you have CPUs with terrible floating point performance. Unfortunately, they are both inadequate for playing Planet Coaster. The more guests that appear in your park, the slower it will run. There is no way to get the performance to acceptable levels with those machines. Both the CPU and the GPU need to be modernized. If you try to run the game on either device it will operate at less than 10 FPS on lowest settings and degrade as your park grows.

You will both need to upgrade your CPU and GPU. Probably not the news you wanted. You should be able to score deals on CPUs and GPUs 1 generation behind right now. That should save some money.

Well I just ordered something new, that's on it's way. And I too have that common question, "Can I run Planet Coaster?" I'd appreciate more than just a yes/no. Getting an idea of how well it'll run would be appreciated. In all honesty, I'm pretty clueless on what it all means, and pretty much know that RAM helps...so please, enlighten me. So without further delay, here are the specs/stats:

Alienware Alpha R2 Base
6th Generation Intel Core i7 6700T (8MB Cache, up to 3.6GHz)
Windows 10 Home 64bit English
NVIDIA GeForce GTX960 GPU 4GB GDDR5
16GB DDR4 at 2133MHz - 1 DIMM
256GB M.2 PCle SSD + 1TB 7200RPM HDD

KuyaJeff you should have no worries about running the game with those specs, theyre the same as mine except your CPU is more powerful, so expect smooth gameplay on high graphics settings. You will experience lag with bigger parks but there is no way to avoid that currently. [happy]

And mine? Maybe with medium settings?

Windows 10 64 Bit

Intel Core i7 5500U 2,4 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.0 GHz
NIVIDA GeForce 840M with 2GB Dedicated VRAM
8GB DDR3 L Memory

The final game will have better performance than alpha, right?
