If you want to play this game on High settings in 1920x1080 full screen mode, or enjoy this game with noticeably reduced lagging, I highly recommend you have or get if you can, a PC which meets the Recommended requirements. If your PC only meets the Minimum requirements, hello, don't expect the game to run as well as a PC which meets the Recommended requirements.

PC gaming is clearly NOT a cheap hobby at all. Especially for modern games which require higher end gaming PC's, not just your average laptop you may use for school or work, to run well.

Otherwise, make sure you PC is up to date (Windows OS, GPU drivers, etc). You can download and check the latest GPU drivers off AMD and Nvidia and Intel's websites depending on what hardware you have. Just make sure your hardware is up to date and working well.

I literally TRIED on a lower resolution and the god ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ thing has all the graphical settings turned down for smooth preformance possible. It wasn't lagging at all, It kept constantly crashing to my desktop for no reason. The computer I have been using since last christmas uses the latest intel processoer and a AMD driver that I keep up to date.

Mario, does your PC have a dedicated GPU? If so, what sort of GPU do you have?

The intel core i7 6500u is ONLY A DUAL CORE PROCESSOR 2 cores 4 threads. That CPU also has a low clock speed to up to only 3.1Ghz. This game is very CPU intensive.

If you dont have a dedicated GPU and are rocking off the intel HD 520 integrated graphics your CPU has, its another reason why the game may be crashing.

I have an HP 15ab222tx laptop with an i5 6200u processor with intel HD 520 graphics and it can barely play this game on 1080p lowest settings only reaches 1-3fps. My laptop tho has a dedicated amd r7 m360 which outperforms intel hd 520 graphics but not by much.

I also got my 1st custom desktop this year which has a much better processor with a high clock speed intel core i7 6700k and amd r9 390.

520 graphics, Only thing is the lowest settings run smoothly and were automatically set as that - But it crashes out of nowhere CONSTANTLY.

Whats the CPU? and how much ram do you have?

I think he private messaged me. He has i think an i7 6500u CPU which only has 2 cores 4 threads and a maximum turbo clock speed of 3.1Ghz. His laptop also has no dedicated GPU so is rocking off the intel HD 520 graphics. Compare your CPU and GPU again with the minimum requirements using cpuboss.com and gpuboss.com. The intel HD 520 is a low end GPU so im not surprised he is having crashing issues.

Yeah, sounds like his computer just can't keep up with the game. Hoping he can't get a better Computer so he can enjoy like the rest :)

Minimum Requirements:

http://ark.intel.com/products/52206/Intel-Core-i5-2300-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_10-GHz which is a quad core processor, not dual core like the i7-6500U. The i5 2300 also has a higher base speed than the i7-6500U, and a bigger cache too. The AMD FX-4300 processor is also a quad core processor. You really need a quad core i5/i7 processor for this game. But to be fair, this game should be playable with an i7-6500U but if you want it playable, play it on 720p max resolution, and everything on the lowest graphical setting. Also check Windows Task Manager while playing the game in the background. If it is 100% utilized, it means your CPU is not powerful enough. This is the case with my i5-6200U on my HP laptop. However on my Desktop PC, Windows 10 Task Manager says my CPU (an i7-6700k) is only 52% utilized while playing this game on 1920x1080 High settings with 4,000 people in my park which has 25 rides and scenery in it and achieving an average 34fps.

As for Intel HD 520, the GPU does not meet the minimum requirements even. As Intel HD 520 is weaker than an AMD R7 M360, GTX 560, and AMD Radeon 7850.

However, having 8GB system RAM or more, does at least meet one of the hardware requirements. Also his OS also meets the requirements. However, his CPU and GPU both do not pass the minimum requirements for this game.

I hope you can save up for a better PC. Good thing about Steam is they may refund your purchase price for Planet Coaster if your system does not meet the requirements or is unplayable. But it's not the game that is at fault. It's a modern simulation game. Since gamers can be demanding wanting better looking games and details, game developers can do this, but you need better hardware to run it well.

Are you kidding me? I got this high end laptop back last Christmas and I was excited to play this game, it ran smoothly and I have more than enouh RAM memory only to find out this? *sigh* It runs modern games fairly smoothly up until this game, and again: even on the lowest settings it kept crashing. Let alone I have a laptop so god knows how I'm going to get a new graphics card installed in there. -.-

your not gonna get a laptop cheaper than 1,000 to run the game effectively.thats just the way it is.laptops just really aren't made for sim games.

Hello everyone!

I was a big RCT3 fan and I love what this game looks like, but even though I have a pretty new Alienware laptop I'm not sure if it can run Planet Coaster.

I went into dxdiag to find my stats but I'm not sure what everything means.
Alienware 15 R2
Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60 GHz (8 CPUs)...does this mean my CPU has 8 cores? If not, how many cores does it have?
16 GB RAM

Display:
Intel HD Graphics 530
Approx. Total Memory: 8 GB (is this consistent with the RAM of the graphics card, or is that a different number?)

Thank you for your time...I'm not terribly familiar with computers, but I would love to play this game!

Update: Just got the game today!

Google helps...my CPU is quad core and my graphics card is integrated so it runs on system RAM.

Graphics were default set on medium which seems to run pretty well so far. I was a bit afraid when the fan turned on, since I don't want the system to overheat...how long do you think the fan can run until heat issues start popping up? Should I run the game on low for safety's sake, or would it be fine as it is?

Exactly 36 minutes, after that your GPU starts melting! [wink]

Just kidding, the fan going is perfectly fine, that's what it's there for. If you're still paranoid, get a tool that measures your gpu and cpu temperature. Just google it, there's freeware like coretemp and others.

Awesome, thank you :)

Hi everyone,

My son asked for planet coaster for Christmas. This is the computer we have.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-...oc=11&CampaignID=761816&SubscriberID=20864406

I don't think we're going to meet the graphic card minimum. Will the game not run at all? Will it be slow.....etc etc.....

Thanks for the help!

It will run this game, but it will likely only cope with 720p or lower resolution, on LOW everything graphics settings.

This game to run well requires a QUAD core processor with above 3.0Ghz clock speed for faster calculations. This game also requires a dedicated GPU too, as Intel graphics are known and in fact, too weak to run simulation games well.

To illustrate, the dedicated AMD R7 M360 2GB DDR3 GPU on my HP 15-ab222tx does a better job than Intel HD 520 graphics which is found in some 6th gen Intel Core i5 processors. Intel HD 520 can only play this game on 1920x1080 Low everything settings with 1-3fps. That is how bad Intel graphics are. Intel Iris graphics is probably the best Intel graphics Intel has made, which is integrated in their CPU's.

Hi everyone, first post after browsing for a while.

This is the laptop I currently have and I was wondering what sort of performance I can expect from Planet Coaster. I believe it meets all the minimum specs....

CPU: Intel Core i7 Quad Core 6700HQ (2.6GHz, 3.5GHz Turbo)
RAM: 16GB HyperX IMPACT 2133MHz SODIMM DDR4 (2 x 8GB)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M - 2.0GB DDR3 Video RAM - DirectX 12
Memory - 1TB SERIAL ATA II 2.5" HARD DRIVE WITH 8MB CACHE (5,400rpm)

Thanks [happy]

That GPU is going to set you back. The CPU is ok and the RAM even passes the Recommended requorements. An Intel Core i7 6700k has a much higher clock speed than the 6700HQ. You should be able to play it on 1920x1080 low settings or 720p low to medium settings.

Hi,

I used to keep my pc up to date but have really not used it in a couple of years due to 2 young babies. However I have plugged it back in after watching some videos of this game.

My old spec is:

I5 2500K 3.3GHZ

8GB Dual Channel DDR3@665MHZ

Nvidia Gforce GTX 460 1023GB

I am playing this currently on a 40" TV

if these specs are little low what would you recommend replacing 1st,

many Thanks

Hello,

I know that my specs aren't the best, although I believe I can run the game. Please let me know if I can run the game and around what FPS would it run at.

HP 15-an051dx "Star Wars Special Edition" Gaming Notebook

Intel Core i7-6600U Dual Core 2.6Ghz (3.4Ghz Turbo)

NVIDIA GeForce 940M 2Gb VRam - DX 12

Intel HD Graphics 520

8GB RAM 800Mhz

1TB Hard Drive

Also, if I can run the game would it run better in any way with an extra 8Gb Ram?

The GPU, then the RAM. Most average laptops have at least 1333Mhz system RAM. 8GB meets the minimum requirements but it needs to have a clock speed of over 1000Mhz which is what modern average laptops have.

Your CPU is going to seriously struggle since its only a dual core processor. You need a quad core processor with above 3.0Ghz speed as this game is very CPU demanding. Intel HD 520 is a very weak graphics solution. A dedicated GPU would do better. You should be able to play it on 720p or lower resolution on low settings.
