The "Can I Run Planet Coaster" thread

I would really like to get and play this, but I don't have a good understanding of the equivalents for the minimum requirements. I can see that my memory is not enough, but everything else that isn't obvious, I'm clueless. Can someone tell me if my PC has what it takes? It's an HP, if that matters.

MY OS - Windows 10 Home
Processor - AMD E2-1800 APU with Radeon (tm) HD Graphics 1.70 GHz
Installed RAM - 6.00 GB (5.57 GB usable)
System type - 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Graphics - AMD Radeon HD 7340 Graphics
DirectX Version - DirectX 12

I hope that I have given enough information, but if there's more that's needed, let me know and I'll do my best to find it.

Any information is much appreciated. I really want this game, but I don't want to waste my money if my PC can't handle it.

Sorry, but those specs do not meet the minimum requirements so you will not be able to play the game.

My HP 15'ab222tx laptop has an Intel Core i5-6200U, Intel HD 520, dedicated 2GB DDR3 AMD R7 M360, and 8GB DDR3L RAM. Intel HD 520 can only play this game in 1080p LOW settings at 1-2fps. The dedicated AMD GPU does better, but not by much.

Regarding your CPU, it is W E L L below minimum requirements for this game. You cannot rock off a dual core CPU with a 1.7Ghz clock speed, with this game.

You could play this game, if you're happy with playing it at 720p or lower resolutions, lowest graphical settings for everything, with up to 1,500 people at best, but you'll probably getting like 9fps or something like that. You need a high end gaming PC, to run this game well. True, there is a lot of people who can't afford a high end PC. With this game, you need something with more power than your average laptop you use for school (most of them only have dual core processors, no dedicated graphics card or only mobile version GTX/AMD GPU's, only 1/2/4/6GB RAM).

I've left you a link to the official system requirements for this game below.

I'm looking to invest in a new laptop, and I'm not looking for anything specific. I currently have a 4-year old Macbook Pro but I can't afford another one of those. Something under £1000, preferably under £900, which will slay this game?

I'm looking at the medion akoya p6667 has i5 processors-6200u it has 8gb ram and has a GeForce 940mx 2mb its all I can afford so wondered if it would play planet coaster ok

Hi,

That computer looks like it meets the minimum specs required to play Planet Coaster. You might want to set some graphics settings miss to low to get higher FPS if that computer has trouble keeping the FPS high enough for you to enjoy.

Hi,

Im looking to buy planet coaster but not sure it will run on my PC my current specs are:

i5-6400 @ 2.70 GHZ
Gforce GT 720

Hi Ibizarocks,

Planet Coaster should be able to run on your computer. Have fun! [up]

Hey guys! I really need some advice on whether I should buy this game or not.

I have:
AD Radeon R7 200 Series (when I looked on "Can I Run It" there are green ticks next too Pixel Shader Version, Vertex Shader version, and Dedicated Video RAM.
AMD FX - 4300 Quad-core processor
3.8 GHz
8GB Ram

Please let me know ASAP! Thanks! [yesnod]

CAN U TELL ME?

OK. So I'm going to build a PC and I want to make sure that this thing can run Planet Coaster in 1080p (more than 80fps)

This is what im going to buy

Intel i7-7700k CPU
16GB of Ram
Nvidia gtx 1080 or Galax 1070
256GB SSD
2TB HDD

Will this run Planet Coaster at more than 80fps in 1080p?
Plz respond!!.
My current laptop which has intel i7-6800k and intel hd 630 256GB SSD can run it on 5fps in 720p D:

That sounds like very good hardware. The i7 7700k also has a slightly faster clocked clock speed than even the i7-6700k. And the GTX 1080 is currently the best GPU on the market. You'll be able to play this game on 1080p maxed settings or 4k high preset. But no hardware will guarantee you 80fps+ for every game. Especially when some modern games are more demanding especially when running on the higher settings. 20-30-40fps is fine. Even a GTX 1080 and an i7 processor will run into frame drops if you trying playing this game on a detailed map with 10,000+ population. The i7-6700k has the best individual core performance compared to Intel's entire 6th gen processors lineup. It also has better individual core performance than an i7-6800k, 6850k and 6950x. It just has a few less cores than those processors. It's still a CPU with 4 cores 8 threads so it's not as weak as lots of those dual core processors on desktops and laptops.

A friend recommended these parts for a new pc but I'm not sure if the CPU will be enough to run Planet Coaster well though.

CPU: i5-7500 3.4GHz LGA 1151
RAM: 16gb
GX: GeForce GTX 1060 DirectX

Thanks

Yes you can play it with this computer. And your i5 processor is a quad core too which is great.

There's too many laptops and PC's out there with only dual core processors. You'll be able to play this game on Low and Medium preset settings in 1920x1080. Just don't go too crazy, like creating a large detailed park, or having around 10,000 people in your park. Because even with the best i7 processor and a GTX 1080, that will really reduce your fps if you do that.

Hi Samj11,

Whether you should buy the game or not is up to yourself. I can't make that decision for you.

Your computer does meet the minimum requirements for Planet Coaster. However, your processor is the minimum that is required, so you should expect lower performance compared to high end computers.

Good luck in making your decision and have fun with the game. You can request a refund if you buy the game on Steam and have not played for more than 2 hours. That way you can determine how well Planet Coaster will run on your computer. Be sure to load some larger parks from the Steam Workshop within those 2 hours if you are going to test the performance of the game on your computer.

Hi, I posted this question elsewhere but its relevant here too.

Is 14fps an acceptable frame rate based upon my specs on medium settings for 5000 guests? My park has 48 rides, but it's pretty compact, and I've only used about half the playing area.

Specs: i7-4790K 4.00GHz
16GB RAM
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0

Having played Cities Skylines to death, I've never noticed a problem with lag. I am concerned whether it's a hardware issue.

That PC might be able to run Planet Coaster, but it won't be smooth. The PC that you have linked to does not have a graphics card in the specification, only a hint in the title that it has 1GB graphics. Planet Coaster requires a minimum of 2GB graphics RAM.

I recommend a higher end PC than the one you have posted a link of.

Hi,

That setup is good enough to run and enjoy Planet Coaster. You will be able to achieve quite decent FPS depending on the size of your parks.
