The potential of the background sim is what can make ED a truely amazing game.

The ability for players to alter the political landscape of the galaxy, or even create their own little empires with a minor faction is alot of fun.

Player generated content is what will keep the game alive for alot of people.

We as players have been given an entire galaxy as our sandbox, we only wish for our tools to be fixed so we can build our castles!

I agree as well. These bugs have quite literally taken the fun out of this objective driven game. I cannot recommend this game to anyone in it's current state, which is a shame because it has the potential to be great. Fixing the background simulator must be a top priority or FD is sure to lose a lot of customers.

I think Elementical put it best. Personally I still have plenty to try in the game, but sooner or later a working background sim will be needed to keep things interesting and keep me playing. Please give this some attention.

The background simulation with the influence system is designed to take player action into account. A group of players working together cooperatively should therefore be able to affect the simulation in a meaningful way. There is no sense of accomplishment if nothing moves.

So please make our actions count.

Similar to the above, the http://frontieraccord.com/ has suffered participation casualties. ..love the vision but the execution needs to be addressed; hours of effort are going to waste..

Cheers Michael, Auld Middenface here has been hitting the Lavian bottle quite hard since the despair of 3 weeks toil amounting to Scotch Mist. Luckily a canopy breach in the last scrap gave me Cobra the clean oot it sorely needed !

How about we see a response along the lines of we are looking into fixing this issue within xyz amount of time. It sounds like we are continiousily getting the brush off just to keep us quite. its not good enough investigation now needs to lead to action in the way of fixes and systems working properly

Unfortunately not - we don't know what's causing the issue yet. It is on our priority bug list but I don't have any more information that.

There's a problem with the electrics in my house, the fuse keeps tripping on the kitchen lights. Can you give me an eta on when it will be fixed?

Of course you can't, because you have no idea what the problem is yet let alone what effort it will take to fix.

FD have said they are looking into it, they don't know when it will be fixed, what else can they say but "we're looking into it". If they said "it'll be fixed in 24hrs", then encountered a problem so it took a week, the same people who moaned that they wanted an eta would lose their stuff over FD breaking their promises on the fix date.
