The Conflux and Hawkin´s Gap (Part what?)

Just checked out Delta.

Elite Anaconda flying round, hatch breaker limpets & FSD Interdictor installed. Wasn't hostile as such though until...

Noticed a solid radar dish type object in the site was rotating on a visible gear. Watched it for a bit then shot it, at that point got a 'Now you die, victim' message in chat and about a minute later it attacked my SRV.

Lawless area as usual, was it somehow 'defending' the installation or was it just me opening fire at all that somehow triggered it?

Its lawless so no actual wanted or clean but the equipment suggests something is up if not RNG pirates.

Checked out Gamma, 2 UCBs, no ships flying round, 2 rotating dish type things at top of central tower.

Revisit to Delta, 1 Krait & 1 DBX both carrying FSD Interdictor, no hatchbreakers this time. Not hostile but didn't shoot anything so that seems to be the trigger, no pun intended. Krait jumped out didn't scan where.

So only seem to be at Delta, seemingly only hostile if I open fire (don't have cargo but didn't get scanned either so hmmmm maybe not usual pirates or maybe just psychic ones), may or may not be defending the site, may or may not be connected to rotating dishes (one says Warning Active Router on it at Gamma)

Yep, shoot the base, and they turn hostile. People were blown up during DW2 that way.

So. I am at the Hawkings Gap Alpha Site now. It is almost an exact copy of Dav´s Hope, even relogs work. Start to scan a bunch of unknown systems in a 200lj radius range.

Alpha and Delta Sites are similar to Dav's Hope. Gamma and Beta are crap. Only Datapoints.

its nearer 8m at the Conflux (7.8m iirc), theres one at each collection of 4 sites I assume). Its on a Data Beacon, the normal type that extend as you get near. Havent been to FR yet though so will find out.

Test to be carried out if anybody willing and near: while in SRV with those NPC ships around. Try firing into the air and see if they attack. I attacked the base and they attacked. But is the trigger a physical attack or just firing weapons in a certain area? If its just firing doesn't add or mean anything anything useful, if only when attacking base maybe can be assumed they are 'defending' it and there is something going on.
