The Conquest of Theta Indi: A Visual Campaign Report

In October, we completed our longest and most complex single-system consolidation, seizing all twelve starports in Theta Indi, a once-Federal system with a population of over 15 billion. Our initial victory here was covered by SAGi in June. We have a set goal of complete control of all landable assets in every system in which we are present, and we took Theta Indi as a special challenge, applying our pre-3.3 BGS experience to consolidate assets under a non-native faction before forcing it out of the system.

While simultaneous states make this tactic less valuable than it used to be, we saw a few advantages that made it attract. First, it allowed us to push for expansion while collecting assets. Our push for expansion allowed us to suppress the other factions in the system; our expansion went active the day after Lak Bureau's retreat ended. Second, it reduced the risk of opposition to multiple control wars. Finally, and most importantly, it was cool.

Lave, Ch'eng, and Buricasses are the only systems with a higher population that have all landable assets controlled by one faction. None have more than three stations.

The above timeline lists major conflicts and other milestones that occurred as part of this campaign, with the dates they went pending and the dates they ended. We write news articles to accompany every major state change. You can read the Theta Indi news archive here.
