Created by Imperial Senate Decree, the Crypteia Society is an organized military force whose primary purpose is to suppress and prevent slave rebellion, while also tracking down escaped slaves.
Formed to be an arm of the Imperial Senate rather than that of the Emperor, the Crypteia Society serves the Senate before the Emperor. Frequently used as escorts of Senators, or hired help for quiet, less legal, operations on behalf of a Senator.
