my plan was with going at 45 for each total ... so either 45 G3, 45 G2 or 45 G1, as the grades share ingredients, and g1 materials are easy to gather on the way... might up that to 60 G3 synthesis jumps...
 
i'm pretty shure chiggy was referring to max jumprange, your build is close to 60 ly max. jumprange. i don't think you can get a DBE to 60 ly plotted jumprange.

Ok, could be I guess - TBH I always only consider the plotted jumprange as a factor - I actually never use the max jumprange as a factor...I have my XConda @ 66.6 LY range for plotted jumps (with no boost speed, though learned to live without it out there) which I just cant get away from ^_^ https://eddp.co/u/xxHYVJQL
 
I see the mining lasers 1D & 2D are the same mass 2t, don't know if that was intended but I see no reason not to carry a 2D. Pity we cant engineer a light weight version at the moment, an oversight by the Devs perhaps.

The smaller one can run constantly without raising the heat levels, the larger one sucks the distributor dry and spikes the temps. I tested in a haz res, with the smaller one, I could gather mats quietly and not draw attention..with the 2D...within 2 fragments popping off..I was being scanned by 20 NPCs at once...

hm, just one srv ... i have to consider it. i still want to keep my boost as it has saved me once in a while from sloppy landings.

hmmm, never thought of bringing mining lasers along for mats, but I guess after your famous rescue, might be worth a thought...never used a boost though that wasn't neutron star induced, though... but why the railguns? for the plasma slug mod to burn fuel? (and I see from your build that you run with no cargo! :) ) isn't it better to get a higher flat jump range w/o weapons or anything, minimizing weight, than to bring a ML and weapons along?

i personally have to say that plasma slugs are very nice to have. in effect much better to handle, than either fitting undersized fueltanks or to scoop manually to the point.

you usually just need those one or two jumps on a fixed maximum fuel level, and waiting for fuel to burn (as jumping in and out isn't always possible) isn't as ice, as to press the trigger several times, especially as explorer build don't use a lot of fuel per hour.

as for mining lasers - a higher jumprange of ~ 0,2 ly won't get you out of a no-way out situation, a mining laser might do. on the other hand, as we are travelling in a group, it might be enough to have a few of us with mining lasers, and most probably it won't be necessary at all.

The mining laser is just a "life jacket"..a just in case all else fails..I have made a few rescues with it, when no other way would have worked. Just when you think it can't happen..it does. *grins*

As for the rail guns. With both of them, I can drain my aux tank in 24 seconds. I can not begin to count the many times I wish I could have lost just a couple of tons of fuel to keep from using the next higher level of jumponium. When I had to waste a premium boost on say a 88 ly jump, where if I could have dumped a bit of fuel, I could have maxxed out a mid-range boost. Maybe doubling up on them is a bit of overkill, but the 0.2t extra weight wasn't that big of a hit.

The long range DSS is the one I'm on the fence about, I do love being able to scan more planets around the jump in point without moving, but the 200% weight gain is a big hit....a bit over .5 ly.

I have never used a cargo bay exploring, wasted slot in my opinion. You don't need one to get mats from roids with the mining laser, and cargo is an invitation to interdiction on return to the bubble.

hmm, good point Chiggy, now I'm going to have to test that on the Asp.

Here's one thing I wish was in ED, a way of grouping my modules for easy on/off with a click, or even assigning a button for each one. So turning on/off cargo bay, or lander, or SLF, could be done with different buttons/keys. It's not a biggie, but it would be nice at times.

so, henkka77 goes with 60 fsd boost, you go with >100 ... looks as if i have seriously underestimated how much i should get with aiming for 45...

WOW o_O - I had never considered that you could actually have that many jumps - I could have halved my jumps to colonia and back with that...went on the neutron highway and was jumping an average of 120-130LY - with the injections, is it possible to double that, so reach >250LY jump range? :D

synthesis does not add to neutron star boosts afaik.
