The Dead End's Circumnavigation Expedition

Taipan too, bright yellow just like my ship and SRV.

Just love the shape :)

Edit: the link just had to be TheYamiks, that guy is so funny. Stumbled across his review of the AspX with a naked DrKaii yesterday, hilarious :)

270 mio is by far enough for an exploration conda - if you settle for a 7b fuelscoop instead of a 7a, and maybe take b-class afmu instead of a-class, you'll end with ~190 mio.

i just would suggest that a) you fly the conda first before deciding to spend a year in it, as quite some commanders hate it for its supercruise handling and landing characteristics (i personally like it above the AspE, but i'm taking a DBE for this trip) and b) that you anyway do a short exploration tour with at least 150 jumps, that's around 3000 ly and back in an unengineered conda. the circumnavigation will take over 9 month...

generally you'll find always helpfull very seasoned explorers in the expeditions discord, so you'll learn a ton. i wouldn't care about credits, because upon return we'll all have data worth 600 mio/cr and more. but whether you are already up for such a trip, only you can tell. it took me personally triple elite and over two years to get ready for this!

Yeah, I've heard that it's a bit of a Lazlar Lyricon custom job.
I'm expecting a big difference, a bit of trepidation add to how much.

Well I'm now at 330 mil, and finding away for those extra credits. I'd like to have insurance, just in case.

I'll look into engineer mods next.

I'm not so worried about throwing myself into the deep end of the black. A year long jaunt seems like a good opportunity to get used to it.

Hey Macros! Don't forget to sign me up! I'll fit the ship right after 2.4 hits, but don't want the roster to close on my before I get my ship.

Name CMDR: Ronmasteh
Ship Type/Name/Range: TBA, after 2.4

Hi I would like to sign up please.I am quite experienced at exploration, but missed DWE and have never been to beagle point.
Would be good to travel on a long expedition with other cmdrs.

Cmdr Devilcr0c

Forgot to mention already member of fleetcomm.

Cheers

To the Annie owners out there. I am trying to shave some weight off my build. Currently running with a 28t tank. Is it wise to trim to 24t or even 20t on fuel tank considering the star density we will be navigating? I know its not like DWE where we had a lot of manual plotting but I dont want to leave myself stranded in deep space due to an overly jealously trimmed fuel tank.

Ideas?

You could always run with 28/24t + Plasma shell Railguns to deplete the excess of fuel you have in case next jump is tricky.

Good idea i have a lightweight PA with plasma slugs. I am on a test run to Maia atm with a 20t tank. It works but you are empty real quick. Not for me. Ill try 24t.

I normally run 24t on my explorer conda builds.

Usually runs with 18t. The max jump range will not change regardless of fuel tank size, except if you under size it [smile]. Going bigger will make neutron star jumps faster, since you can delay refueling further.

What ship launched fighter variants are people taking. I am going Tiapan. Love this review:

And is anyone taking lightweight PA with plasma slug mod?

- PA depletes tank slower than railguns with plasmaslug .... some are bringing two. if i return to the bubble before departure, i'll fit a second one, too.

- 20T is okay imho, that's still 2,5 jumps....

Thank you, CMDR [smile]

OK, I shall procrastinate no longer. Sign me up: CMDR Rojo Habe. No ship details as yet: I'll update you when I've worked it all out. Timezone +0 (UK)

So many familiar names on the roster from DWE. How could I miss this?

Welcome aboard, CMDR!

I don't know, how could you?
(if Erimus joins, then I know we're in trouble ;))
