The Dead End's Circumnavigation Expedition

I have installed EDDiscovery and set APIs from both EDSM and EGO (first time user). There were a couple of lags and non-responsive moments, but seems to be working in game ok atm.
Any handy tips from current EDD users?

NB. Roster info - please amend Cutter Ship ID to VX-AST and current max range to 37.20ly.

Thank you,
Vex

Disable the "From EDSM" in your commander's settings, unless you are running EDD on a separate machine. If you're running on the same computer as Elite it's not necessary and can introduce frame rate drops when you accumulate many entries.

You can right-click on an entry and set it as the beginning of the trip to track down your trip statistics. Right click on the System information panel to show a list of options and select travel information to see your trip's statistics.

The statistics panel is very useful especially the Summary tab.

When you are ready to begin and you are on the first system of your trip, go to the Routes/Expeditions tab and create a new route, saving it with a name of your choice. As you move on to your trip you can use the 3D map and select it to show you your route from the drop down menu. This way you can visualise your journey only.

Check out the (new for 8.3, I only wrote it last weekend) Shopping List tab - you can tell it how many of each synthesis recipe you want and it'll come up with a list of materials and if you then make the control transparent and always on top you can have it floating in one corner over the game while prospecting.

Pick a new Default Map Colour on the Settings tab at the start of each trip and you can get all your travels at once with different trips in different colours.

Thank you CMDR Lorell.
I have saved your guidance to my pre launch logbook.

That's just what I need in the days leading up to voyage. Thanks, CMDR!

I just saw that part. Haven't experimented with it yet, but it's definitely needed. Eventually, EDD will be the one and only tool to have. :D

Personally, I love to have the scan data of the system up while exploring, with transparency. So I can see each planet popping up there while discovering them.

Good tip.

18t as 10t per the bay itself, 4t per each SRV.

Unless I'm missing something and overcalculating that SRV weight doesn't add to the bay weight.

The SRV is weightless. Try buying the SRV bay without the SRVs, check your jump range, then buy the SRVs and you'll see the jump range is the same. It's totally counterintuitive IMO.

The SRV weight is included in the bay weight. Which I think as a good thing, given that I carry 2 SRVs too on my current journey. Outfitting will show you that the range is the same as will Coriolis too.

Build link explaining this pls.

Aurora, which I am flying now. The bay includes the SRV weight -- or if you prefer it they are weightless. The latter is against common sense so I prefer to think that when you buy a bay you also "buy" the SRV weight too, regardless of whether you have an SRV in the bay or not.

If you want to test it, go to outfitting, buy an SRV bay, note your range at the bottom of the screen, equip an SRV, notice that your range has not changed.

Ty Cmdr.

Just a tip on your build. If you note my Anaconda builds PD you can get boost on a 5D G3 engine focussed PD. Just a thought.

Annoyingly coriolis haven't updated to 2.4 yet. I have a repair limpets in place of refuel limpets. Very similar build though.

Thanks commander. :) I considered the boost capable PD but decided against it, as I limit my landings to below 2G planets. Ironically though I forgot to drop my power plant to 2A and that I had a G4 roll (albeit quite good) on my sensors instead of a G5. Oh well. Next time I'll be able to dock will be in months. It is what it is.

I have a 3A powerplant in my own Anaconda. What engineering would you recommend to reduce it down to 2A? How many modules can you actually run at once?

Icarus has a 2A PP grade 1 overcharged in this build. All modules except AFMUs and weapons can run at the same time, although I make sure I can run Thrusters, FSD, Life support and 1 AFMU if I should find myself inside a Neutron star cone in normal space.
