The death of a game...

Responding to what I can actually speak to:

-I'm not feeling pressure from FD. I'm not employed by them, I'm a volunteer. If they pressured me I'd just stop doing this. I don't need a second job. They expect mods to help enforce the rules as they see fit and if we do not execute that responsibility to their linking they find someone who will. That brings up the question: 'why do I do this?' I love this community and like to think through my volunteering as a mod I'm giving back in a small way by helping keep this forum a nice place for everyone to hang out. I'm also giving back to Frontier for helping to create something that gives me a lot of joy. I don't do it to feel superior or to lord over other posters. If a mod starts doing that they're not going to be a mod for long. FDev won't tolerate little forum dictators angering their customers.

-Threads being hastily 'moved, locked for anonymous reasons' : If you have concerns with how the mods handle rule enforcement there is a procedure for letting FDev know. It's in the rules thread here on the forum.

-'alarming level of infractions being dished out across the board' : I'd very much like to know what data you have to back that up, as infraction counts are not public information.

I actually have friends that frequent these forums as much or more than I do, I have their empirical data.
also, I have appropriately contacted Brett C. on the actions Ive questioned
-cuddos on the bown-nose reply btw, particularly charming read (pleasant first encounter with you specifically).

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.

So you've got some mates who had their wrists slapped so the mods are tyrants and the game is doomed. Ok.

Charmed as well btw.

Just to address a couple of your points OP, as I don't feel you're representing these points entirely fairly:

- The last update may have introduced lots of bugs, but previous updates have also introduced lots of bugs that take time to work out. Don't forget that the last update was also unprecedented in its range of changes to the game - more parts of the game being touched by a single update than ever before. It's natural therefore that the bugs would be numerous, especially consoles which don't get to participate in betas. Remember that Xbox was affected by a Lagrange cloud bug that shut down consoles. I also think it's natural that the bugs are going to take a whole to get through. Bugs that weren't in beta suddenly rear their heads in the live game, some bugs that were in the beta didn't get time for fixes, and some bugs (like background stars loading near the core) are very long-standing (so much so that I don't think FD know how to fix them at this point). So I don't take bugs after an update as a red flag for the game dying.

- New content isn't being pushed back by 18 months - the next era is. There's still the quarterly updates that may introduce new content on a smaller scale. We know that the first two are primarily (but not exclusively) aimed at the new player experience, but after that it's back to "normal".

- Sales aren't a sign of a dying game by any stretch. They're signs of trying to grab potential new players.

- The CGs are being removed so that they can be reinstated in a new format, and as far as I am aware, that won't be too long a wait. Saying that it's a sign of doom is like someone saying that you're going to demolish your entire house when you knock down an internal wall to make renovations.

Calling red flags at this point just seems like you're not looking past the end of the month. Like anything that's further away than that might as well not be coming at all.

Also, starting a sentence with "and" is acceptable.

You got your stuffz back after you 'discovered Raxxla' and got stuck.
If I were support, I wouldn't have even considered it, but they're nice guys, and they got you your stuff back.
And now you're going after the forum mods.
Who do this voluntarily.

You know those nice guys I mentioned before? Try to be a little bit more like them. You might find it really helps a lot.

The op started out like one of those old school Halo terminals about Flood growth and how the Forerunners knew they were doomed lol.

OT: I haven’t posted in a while. The Mods here have always been cool and I still frequent this forum even though I stopped playing ED early last year. Well, that’s enough rambling from me. Back to lurking!

I've noticed a trend in the past throughout the different ménage of games I've played in my life. From NES Super Mario Bros and Dragon Warrior, to the games of today and Elite Dangerous.

......

Please share YOUR thoughts of my observations, before this gets locked, or moved.

I read through the OP twice and I saw no further mention of this "trend" that you originally alluded to.
