The demise of the Logitech G13

I run a Logitech G13 game pad which does a lot of pretty awesome editions to Elite Dangerous especially with camera controls. Plug them into Adobe or pro Avid apps for great editing.

But it is a ten year old interface and Logitech no longer supports it. I know this as I purchased the latest hi-end C922 webcam, downloaded the Logitech software and the G13 went away. I save everything so deleted the latest C922 app and reloaded the G13 files from the past. No problem as there are much better software than Logitech provides with their C922 camera. Might I recommend Bandicam with all the pro tools and not the cost.

Still I wonder what others are using professionally in the business with no longer G13 support.

Regards

I too had a G13 and I used it for years, but finally a couple of the buttons stopped working. That's when I found out it was out of production and no longer made/supported.

I just picked up a Razer Tartarus V2 in a black Friday deal and it seems ok so far. I think I'd still prefer a controller more like the G13 if there was one available though. I'm not using the Razer at the moment in Elite however since I've got a Virpil throttle with lots of buttons for that.

So I know that, in internet terms, this thread is ancient history. But I just wanted to drop the info that you can still use the G13. You have to install the last version they released of the older Logitech Gaming Software, it won't show up in G-Hub or any of the other device management software Logitech releases, now.

Does anyone share their G13 profile?
I have also one here, want to integrate it to my sim...
which is neary the same as yours @TheMindBuddah ... except of the HOTAS ... mine is a X52 and there are no StreamDecks

I wore out the rubber on the thumbstick of my first G13. Several keys are very worn as well, but it still works perfectly. I'll eventually fix it once I graduate to flexible filament on my 3D printer. For now, it's put away.

I'm now using a second G13 I bought when I heard they were discontinued. The old LGS software works fine on Windows 10 with a few tweaks, and it fully supports my G910 keyboard as well.

I've tried other alternatives, but none work as well as the G13 (for my needs). It's a shame they discontinued it.

Hi :)

I've got a G19 (and bought one for my son at the same time), the one I've got hasn't had a lot of use though, and it's kept covered up when not in use, so I'm hoping it's going to last a few years yet!
Reading / seeing this topic prompted me to browse the Logitech web site again. Hmm....no spare parts for the keyboard etc. :(

Not sure if you use this with your G19, but it's the reason I got a G19 for Elite.
