You can count me in to this fan club!!! The first Disney park I ever went to was Disneyland paris, more than a decade ago and I instantly fell in love with the whole immersive experience and total isolation from normality that you feel when you are there. My first rollercoaster experience was Big Thunder Mountain and it's still one of my favourite rides to date. I remember being fascinated by the way the whole ride is on an island (it is completely surrounded by water in paris for those who don't know). I remember sitting on main street crying when we had to leave (I was only about 8 or something, don't judge hahaha).

Fortunately my parents have been good enough to take us back many times in the future and we now do almost-annual trips to Florida and I'll never tire of it! I like to think I'm quite an expert in all things WDW, but I'm sure I'll not be the only one around here [rolleyes].

I am especially interested in all the "backstage magic" of how to whole place is run. It just really fascinates me, any time I see a worker coming through a hidden door I take a moment to have a good look inside (it's normally just a cleaning cupboard or something, but I found a few entrances to the utilidors already [mouth shut])

Not sure about visiting Disney Parks at my age, I prefer cruising holidays myself, but Disney do have their own cruise ships like the one shown in this video. But I think I would pass on this kind of cruise. I prefer something more sedate than a ship full of screaming kids. [haha] [haha] [haha]

Personally, I have visit the following Disney parks. Here is my résumé: [hehe]
1997 Disneyland Resort Paris
- Disneyland Park
2000 Disneyland Resort Paris
- Disneyland Park
2005 Disneyland Resort Paris
- Disneyland Park
- Disney Studios
2007 Disneyworld
- Magic Kingdom
- Disney MGM Studios
- Animal Kingdom
2011 Disneyworld
- Magic Kingdom
- Disney MGM Studios
- Animal Kingdom
- Epcot
- Typhoon Lagoon

I would love to visit the original Disneyland in Anaheim, California and Disney Tokyo. I have visit Tokyo, but did not had the time for that.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

After seeing some of the unique rides for Disneyland Hongkong, I got an eager lust to get there as well. [rolleyes]
Just look at this lovely ride called "Mystery Manor". It is their own version of a ghost house with a completely own style and some awesome new ride technology you would only dream of getting into Planet Coaster! Please take a look:

Real ride starts at 6.30.

Since you asked about favourites, my absolute favourite ride out of all of Disney is the Tower of Terror in Florida. We often go there early in the morning and just keep riding it until the queue gets long, it never gets boring. My best memory of that ride though is actually the time all the lights came on half way through the ride and we got to see basically just plain grey walls [yesnod]. Also they turned off all the sound effects and music that time and it was just eerie silence. There was no screaming, crashing effects, nothing. Just silence and motor noise. It was really strange but so fun.

As for my favourite park. Well I don't like to choose, can I say all of them?

Haha, of course you can gregorburns1!
Thanks for sharing your favourite. [happy]

One of my biggest favourite rides are the first one I ever did when I got to Disneyland Paris for the very first time when I was only 10 years old. I'm talking about Phantom Manor! The spooky dark ride about a lonely Bride and an Evil Phantom. That Victorian styled villa on top of Boot Hill will ever be iconic. And it is awesome to research its background story about the Ravenswood family and Thunder Mesa.

Here is a nice walkthrough of the ride.

I recreated Phantom Manor in TheSims2 long ago. It got very popular as a downloadable lot in the community. [big grin]

However, I do wonder how the Haunted manors of the Disney parks would look like if the newest technology used in Mystery Manor was invented earlier and used in those rides instead of the Doom buggies? [yum]

Nothing's better than a Disney cruise for parents of kids. The Kids club is top notch and allows parents time on their own in the adult only areas. And I have done disney when my kid was young and carnival as she became a teen.

But if you don't have kids on a Disney ship. Holly ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎.

Now that my daughter is moving out and going to college we are going to be able to do a bit more traveling and will be hitting other Disney parks. So far I've only been to Walt Disney World. But....
1971,1972,1973,1978, 1980, 1985, 1987, 1990, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2001 + a disney Cruise, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015. Skipping this year [cry]

I added Disneys cruise ship to the list now. Not a park, but are often included when talking about the parks, as you do now. So why not? Big family!! [big grin]

What is your favourite Disney caslte? Personally, it will always be Sleeping Beauty Castle in Paris. [heart]
Both in whimsical design and in the interactive stuff you can do and experience inside it.

I do like the Cinderella Caslte in Magic Kingdom as well. I have a big poster of it behind my door in my bedroom. When I close for the night, the magic dreams comes in. [rolleyes]
However, the daily show blocking its entrance is horrific. I got cut off from my family once. No good for the Disney policy. And, its interior is impossible to see if you not got a booked place in the restaurant or win a stay over in the suite. It is terrible you cannot even go and look in from the door to see the restaurant. It feels like the interior are not for the public eye in oppose from DL-Paris that are very welcoming for every one.

Here are at least some filmed tours:

I've only ever seen two of them in person, and for me, I'd have to say Cinderella's castle in Florida, but it's a few years since I've been to the French parks so I might just be biased [big grin]

Really? I didn't know of such great deal! [woah]
Both times, 2007 and 2011, we had to seat an hour to get great seats. [sad]

They changed it in 2015. it used to be you just asked for it and you could get it on a first come/first serve basis. But then when you ate you could order anything you wanted. Now it is a pre assigned dinner. App/entree/dessert/drink for a set price. And still first come first serve.

Also before the Fantamic dinner package was that roped off area you saw to the right of center. Now the package is reserved dead center.

When you go as often as I do you learn a lot.
