Although negative is in the title, I'm actually looking to put a positive foot forward but with some likely outcomes. I've been quite vocal about grandfathering on the side of keeping it. Players worked hard for those upgrades and shouldn't have that work diminished or taken away. However just like light levels or gear score or whatever you call it in MMORPGs, improvements will happen and you have to move with them. All that said, I'm beginning to think that Engineering 3.0 will actually be an improvement and not the absolute cluster that the forums present.
I'll miss secondaries but nothing is perfect and by the sounds of it, the new system does provide benefits to the intended stats. Other than dirty drives from what I hear but these are beta figures and beta is the place to discover these things.
The double negative I speak of is the likely player base reaction post 3.0 engineering. Get whooped in PvP, it'll be because that player has unobtainable mods via grandfathering. What, that player is actually running on the new system, well the new system is obviously OP. It's a heated subject but I urge people to just accept it now and not blame it for our future encounters.
Ending on that positive note then. If my groups PMF isn't part of 3.0, which would be frustrating, then I likely have some free time in game. I'll be taking the plunge and attempting to move over to new system. Yeah, not grandfathering my old stuff in storage. If it sucks, then it sucks but I might be surprised. Anyone just gonna take the plunge? I'll report back with findings when it happens and look forward to being called a mindless fan boy below[big grin]
