Engineers The Dweller. Fast Class ranking up. What commodities to sell?

Hello Commanders o7

The gerat engineer grind continues.
Im currently just at class 3 rank with the Dweller. Im looking at calling in a favour to get the thermal shock weapon effect but when i do ill be busted down to class 1. Was just wondering what commodities are best to sell to the Dweller to buy back the rank essentially without having to scrounge for thoe materials again (i know grade 3 isnt THAT hard to unlock but my time is precious)

Any ideas?

You could just make a bunch of grade 1 mods using materials that are practically worthless and found under every rock. At the very least get him to rank 2 this way. Much easier IMO then hauling commodities back and forth
 
If rep is tied to the ammount of profit per sale you make, arriving with a cargo full or rares should get you somewhere.

or mining. there is nothing producing that much profit as mining.

beside that - high value goods from boom systems, which are seriously under galactic average will give you around 800 cr/profit. but compared to mining, you have to do around 8-10 runs for the same profit.
 
Yep, definitely have to agree with mining (if you don't mind doing it).
I dumped a cutter load on him when I started, think it took me to rank 4 if I remember.
 
Yeah maybe rares then or low level gade upgrades. do you HAVE to apply the module upgrade to gain rank or can u just preview, generate and discard (if u dont like it) and still gain rep?

i mine in a clipper for that reason in 2.1. - simply outrun any pirat. a pristine metallic is only two jumps from the dweller if i remember correctly.

Just generating the mod is enough for rep, applying is optional. It's a useful way to get rid of abundant stuff like carbon, nickel and sulphur.
That the engineer in question isn't upset because you waste its time by creating useless mods for no benefit is beyond me.

If you mine, that helps too. I'm at four and will be mining for mats..:: I'll be selling the high value stuff to the dweller to gain my last rank.

thanks, helped me out to rep from 3 to 4 for the power distro.... just modded the beam lasers to run up the rep cheaply.
