Ceremonial Spiky Spoons of Mike

Name of Rare Good: Ceremonial Spiky Spoons of Mike

Short Description: These martial fighting spoons are the ancient ceremonial weapon of choice amongst the original colonists of the Mike system. Over a meter long and traditionally hand carved from vacuum compressed biowaste, each spoon is festooned with many spikes - deadly sharp and sometimes toxic. No longer used in actual warfare, these spiky spoons are now sold as tourist mementos, every good home and office should have one.

System & Starport: Nilson Port, Mike System

Means to Create: Deliver 10,000 tonnes of Biowaste to Nilson Port.

Name of Rare Good: Diet Steakette

Short Description: The last shipment of genuine Diet Steakette was thought lost during the collapse of GalCop but it seems that recently packages have been sold on the black market in the systems around Cegreeth. The nefarious yet surprisingly enterprising scientists of Volta Orbital have been acquiring these originals and have recently made a breakthrough which means this old favourite is back on the shelf! No-one knows whether the Slaves are ingredients or labour and there are accusations that they may be just relabeling the originals but one thing is clear - the Synthetic Paleo Diet is all the rage in the Empire again.

System & Starport: Cegreeth, Volta Orbital

Means to Create: Deliver Ancient Artefacts and Exploration Data to an anarchy system within 50ly of Cegreeth. Deliver the following to the Volta Orbital in appropriate quantities: Biowaste, Bioreducing Lichen, Slaves (not Imperial), HE Suits (make the number required about 10% of the Slaves...)

On behalf of the EDC Guardians Facebook group, I would like to present the new rare item Eta Draconis Gold Vision Company was able to find on Eta Draconis A 4.

Dragons_Eye-001.jpg

Name of Rare Good:
Eta Draconis Dragon's Eye

Short Description:
The Eta Draconis "Dragon's Eye" is a rare, crystal like blue gem which has an ellipsoid golden inclusion, which affects the surrounding crystal in a way that after some time it somewhat resembles a pupil (the effect is ongoing, which means you can tell the age - and as such the worth, with old ones being much more pricey than young ones - of the gem by it's look). It can only be found below the hot surface of Eta Draconis A 4 and is considered to be one of the most expensive gems in the known galaxy.

System & Starport:
Eta Draconis, Alvares Terminal

Means to Create:
Since the extraction process is quite complicated and involves a lot of manual work, the following materials are needed to start a successful extraction business: 5,000 tons of H.E. Suits and 5,000 tons of Mineral Extractors

(Please note that the quick mock-up image I added was done by using an image from the internet. I don't have the copyright for it, so please don't use it for anything else - I only added this to make sure people understood what I am talking about since English is not my first language. The original image of the jewellery I used for this can be found here: Suffer For Your Art Clothing).

  • Umbrigua Quantum Decryption Flasks
  • Created by renegade scientists at Ballard Orbital these flasks contain exotic Turing Plasma and are impossible to dismantle without destroying the contents and anything else in the vicinity. Any encrypted transmissions within 50 metres of an unshielded flask cause spontaneous oscillation of the plasma at frequencies that can be decoded as a plain text stream by Discovery Scanners. When sold and in transit to the station's storage bay, embargoed items in the Station's Customs Facilty are briefly unlocked and become available as commodities for purchase.
  • Umbrigua/Ballard Orbital
  • To ramp up production so these can be more widely distributed we will need 1000t of H E Suits, 4000t of Cobalt, 3000t of Superconductors

Name of Rare Good: K-nig-hts Shrubbery
Short Description: The guardians of the K-nig-hts shrubbery, CODE, jealously watched over their prize possession for a millennia. Sadly the number of would be thieves prepared to run their blockades in order to steal a cutting increased to a point where they were forced to relocate. Now under the protection of Archon Delaine, the CODE have decided to offer limited quantities of K-nig-hts shrubbery to help fund their expansion plans.
System and Starport: Asoorajara, Gabriel Enterprise
Means to Create: 50,000 tonnes of gold and palladium.
The palm needs greasing after all.

Achenar Antikythera Machines

Name of Rare Good: Achenar Antikythera Machines

Short Description: A working micro model of the inhabited universe, contructed entirely from brass cogs and powered by clockwork. An ancient blueprint and some archeological fragments have recently been discovered under the waters of New World, Achenar. It is possible to mass-produce a small quantity of these devices from the blueprints.

Name of Rare Good: Samarium Hexaboride Shield

Short Description: The Samarium Hexaboride Shield, or SHS for short, is a rare material engineered to act as both a defensive and offensive shield. In its resting state, it absorbs thermal energy which triggers a powerful magnetic pulse through the material. This pulse creates an excited state which then releases the absorbed thermal energy in a single burst back in the direction of its origin. SHS material can be engineered into large structural shielding, but due to its scarcity, is more commonly found in personal armor. The material also goes by its more common name, "Corbomite".

System & Starport: Tauri - Samokutyayev Orbital, possibly named after Colonel Vasili Samarsky-Bykhovets, the first person to have a chemical element (samarium) named after them.

Means to Create: Superconductors, Semiconductors, Beryllium, Bauxite (unless you want to add Samarium and Boron to the list of mined minerals). I'll leave it to the Frontier ED economists and mathematicians to determine the appropriate quantities and price of this rare substance.

Name of the rare good
Aisling´s Guide to the Galaxy (Maybe just "Empire´s Guide to the Galaxy" to keep it more neutral)

Description of the Rare Good
"You spent half of your life in a cargo hatch? Have you never left your owner´s planet? Are you suddenly free but you don´t know what to do now?? Than this is what you need:
"Aisling´s Guide to the Galaxy"
A comprehensive, interactive guide for the newly free man, woman or alien! Inside you will find a detailed map with Aisling´s approved and updated list of colonizable planets and a detailed step-to-step, hands free collection of the top 100 tips to go from hauled to hauler!!"

Manifest:
The quick expansion of Aisling´s ideals are roaring trough the galaxy. The people´s Princess they call her, and blue, the color of the oppressed. A lot have been done in the name of freedom, but we all know that freeing a slave isn´t enough to feed him. We need new land, we need to look again to the stars. Commanders go out in the black, seek for Terraformable or earthlike planets. Fight for freedom, prepare for the future.

Explanation of the Community Goal:
It would be about getting the exploration data to Chona, or Cubeo, why? Becase i like those two systems
smiley.gif

And it would be cool if it could be focused on earthlike, seaworld and terraformable planets...but maybe it´s not possible with the current system of the CG.

  • Name of Rare Good: Lensloks
  • Short Description: After their rediscovery a number of years ago this archaic form of data security has undergone somewhat of a resurgence with many high ranking security agencies. Once considered only merely difficult to use in conjunction with physical display units, their application against today's holographic displays makes them virtually impossible to all but those who have undergone the rigorous Lenslok training and the pharmaceutical conditioning required to allow them to be able to hold the Lenslok steady enough at the right distance from the display in order to reveal the hidden data.
  • System and Starport: CD-70 1960, Brodie's Pride.
  • Means to Create: 14,000 Polymers, 2,000 Auto Fabricators, 2,000 Performance Enhancers

Name of Rare Good: Cemiess Absinthe

Short Description: Little is known of the origins of this beverage, only that it was consumed over millenia ago on Earth. Thanks to the anonymous commander, who found recipe on the abandoned ancient spacecraft, the absinthe was recreated in the Bent Laser cantina, which is now very popular among the Cemiess society. Absinthe is highly alcoholic spirit made from various herbs and drinking it is more of a ritual than a way to get drunk. Rumors say that if you'll drink enough absinthe, Thargoids will communicate with you, but those "visions" are caused by the chemical compound thujone, which in high doses is psychoactive and hallucinogenic. Strange is, that those who claimed to see Thargoids, are now missing...

System & Starport: Cemiess / Meech Dock

Means to Create: In order to spread the production of Cemiess Absinthe across the Milky Way, commanders need to deliver 100 000 tonnes of Liquor and 100 000 tonnes of Auto-Fabricators to Meech Dock.
