Maybe. Does the ring have pristine reserves?
I've only found it from surface prospecting myself. I'm pretty sure I've seen it as a mission reward too.
I've done a bit of testing, and I'm fairly sure that the pristinity of a ring doesn't matter. Different materials drop in diferent ring types, metal-rich rings seem to be the best. Rocky is good for some mats too. If I'm after rare mats, I drill the roid until it's depleted and check if there are any mats I want, then target them with a limpet. Uses one limpet per fragment, but that's OK for the rare stuff.Maybe. Does the ring have pristine reserves?
Agreed. Recommend using eddb.io to find Tin in your area then looking for the highest concentration on the surface.Mining is a terrible way to get rare elements.
The best way to find Tin is, in my opinion...hunt for Polonium in the SRV, then you'll build up a big batch without noticing it because you'll be so &*))) ^&£^(()"£ annoyed at not getting Polonium.
I've got 11 tin and it hasn't been that difficult getting it.
This. Just go surface prospecting. You'll have Tin and loads of others in no time.
Also I have seen Tin as a mission reward plenty of times.
Especially now the Detailed Surface scan or existing data tells you exactly what materials can be found on a planet in what %s
In general, impact craters are a good place to start. Thanks for all the great info!
One more question.....once I find a planet can I just pick any spot or is there a best place to land sport to start prospecting?
