PvP THE END OF THE GRIEFER OF WYRD AFTER 2000 VICTIMS

Look, @Camisade, the issue here is that lawfuls try to play the same game as the outlaws but shackled one way or another. It could be tactics. It could be builds. Mostly it's the whole "moral crusade" that just oozes from their posting (and yours... I mean, you were just mansplaining Ryan_M for gods sake).

There's a relatively well known lawful group on XBOX that will punish its members from even associating with outlaws. They think they're doing their people a favor, that somehow outlaws will taint your moral center. Do you know what happens when their members actually go out and meet outlaws and play with them?

Well, most of them aren't lawful for much longer.

It's because so many of you take this way too seriously, way too personally, and just aren't nearly as good as you think you are. Like I said, you're playing their game with one arm tied behind your back and because of that you will always lose. Doesn't have to be that way.

that's an arxing clear diagnose there.

i would just add that afaik there were some very notorious "lawful" groups being top quality sports at a (distant) time. i guess they eventually found out that the game just doesn't support that play style, but i don't really remember any of them blaming it on other player's morals.

I suspect part of it was vilification by the wider community for even daring to engage in PvP - lawful, outlaw, or otherwise.

EDIT: Substituted "suspect" for "know."

I've seen some narrow escapes, but too few to be entertaining.

And man, those laughs...

We know why that is those. People who post PvP videos generally speaking don't like to look fallible, which is why despite escape being so common, it's rarely seen in videos posted (much like videos including the uploaders death).

AA (pre-2018) was the only competent lawful PvP group that has ever existed in the game. Every single other lawful group ranges from "terrible" to "mediocre" at best.

Then do you mind clarifying which of the following statements you agree with?

"beliefs and behavior in a game or on a forum do not reflect real life."

"A person's actions [...] while behind the veil of anonymity that multiplayer games provide, is a pure indication of their true character and values."

The second, of course. It refers to my opinion of the attitude griefers bring to the game. I would have thought the context would make the irony behind the first line quoted above obvious. Or that at the very least someone might think I was throwing a bone that I didn't really believe. I even concluded with Marc Antony's famous line from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar -- one of the most brilliant examples of irony in literature -- to shore up my own admittedly weak and off-the-cuff writing! <sigh>

And, to preempt that inevitable follow-on challenge, I realize that gankers and griefers clubbing baby seals have long since rationalized their actions a hundred ways from Sunday, have decided their treatment of other players doesn't really reflect on them as people, and don't equate it with bullying or any other IRL anti-social behavior. I understand that we're all physiologically wired to view ourselves as being a "good guy" in our own life story (no matter what) and that (almost) nobody's mind has ever been changed by an argument on the internet. So I'm fine with letting that part of the discussion die. I'm comfortable with agreeing to disagree and continuing to have fun with this game.

Anyone who thinks my CMDR's treatment of other CMDRs has anything to do with my treatment of other players has a problem separating the author from the character.

Plenty of players I get along with fine who have had their CMDRs try to gank my in-game CMDR though the most underhanded means possible within the rules of the game.

Plenty of CMDRs that my CMDR gets along with fine, are played by those who, should they ever cross my property line in the real-world, would never be heard from again.

Here's a writing tip: if you consider your own abilities weak and off-the-cuff don't quote the likes of Shakespeare. You end up having to explain it like this and just dig yourself a deeper hole.

Jeez, we're flying through topics nonstop. Are we back on 'behaviour online doesn't reflect behaviour IRL', or are we about to jump to a new thing?

Well, I was referring to my online behavior (which is largely self-evident as a whole, even if it's occasionally taken out of context, or misinterpreted) vs. my IRL behavior (which no one will ever know the details of, but is, suffice to say, considerably more anti-social), as a rebuttal to Camisade's claim that he can divine the true character and heart of a person by how many in-game character they do or do not have their own character send to the claims office.

However, since the video I dug out in response to Goose4291's earlier post just finished processing, I am more than happy to jump to another topic:

escape being so common, it's rarely seen in videos posted

I've got one of these:

Actually he's right. I should have picked up on the irony, but the wall-of-text approach made my eyes glaze over so I missed it. But it's poor form to cherry pick a quote snippet to take it out of context; I didn't realize I was doing it but nevertheless it's my bad.

Instead of ensuring I quoted properly I just skimmed and picked up on a sentence that seemed wildly out of character for him.

I'll not elaborate beyond my reading incomprehension as the thread has been cautioned.

You're too late. The Forum Police is already on their way to kneecap you.

Speaking of police, I think I'm going to fire up the game and have my CMDR murder more authority by the landfill full because that's what I'm incentivized to do to kick interlopers out of starports Frontier should never have put them or their crappy PMFs in a position to take from their rightful owners.

If anyone wants to intervene in this righteous and dastardly attack on the blue lives matter movement, they are free to try, as, like anyone concerned with the feelings of fellow players (as long as I don't have to be in close physical proximity to any of them), I have my CMDR do BGS work in Open.

Have you taken a look at your avatar lately?

Says the garish purple super-square!

You know whats really sad?

That no matter how much I try to avoid it - and I really do try - I feel like I'm going to end up making the FDL bounty hunter build.

I mean even the game describes it as the choice for bounty hunters.....but i dont liiiiiiike it pls fdev

But for me its the space for booster, wake scanners and KWS. https://s.orbis.zone/3p3t

Everyone stopped playing because it's boring dunking on you guys over and over and over again. It's not fun logging in, killing you guys in 5 minutes, then waiting 30 minutes for you to reorganize just to get smoked again every single day.

Maybe if you guys were better at what you do, it might be more fun and we might come back.

I find it absolutely hilarious that you're complaining about high waking while your group high wakes from Harry like 10 times today.

Git gud, please.

Please do yourself a favor and don't actually fly that. It's a coffin.
