The Fed. Corvette we lost...

I remember enjoying the game quite nicely when all we had were the different module classes and NO engineering.

Issues arose when grind and game play became entwined and not to the the betterment of play.

Many of these "innovations" unfortunately led to cheating, game bugs and and added burdens to the Devs.

Changes such as issuing new MKs of existing ships would be fairly easy to do from the coding side and would certainly stimulate interest.

Make the Corvette MKII available to full admirals, at least the grind would result in a desirable outcome (unless they offered a worthless upgrade), you could do this with the Cutter as well.

It still wouldn't make much of a difference really. I got my Corvette as soon as made Rear Admiral and it was only a short time after that I got the Admiral ranking.
