This is not an instant or not opinion thread! Please scoot off to one those instead if you want to debate that.
Assuming ship/module transfer is implemented as intended what's your preferred fiction for how they arrive at your current location?
Any time for your chosen method takes is an accepted anomaly, unless you want to bake instant transfer into your fiction of choice.
The obvious versions that spring to mind in no particular order are:
1. 3d printing your ship/modules with the vast resources station have at their disposal
2. Ships are transferred in massive cargo ships
3. Parker, your driver, delivers them to you
4. Ships are slaved to a master ship and transported in heavily guarded 'shoals'. These travel the main hyperspace routes, with ships breaking off to complete the last few hops to specific locations with a small security chaperone
I dislike the 3d printing option, unless someone can expand up on it. If stations can manufacturer anything, then supply limited shipyards and outfitters don't make sense.
I favour 2 & 4, as they'd both provide sightseeing and game play opportunities. Especially huge cargo ships.
