The final DLC for JWE2?

First I would like to thank every person who worked on this game from its inception. It is a game that I enjoy playing on a regular basis. Even with the constraints and limitations, it is one of my favorite games. And it is wonderful to look at all the models, explore the maps, and be able to create parks.

When the news of the latest DLC was shared, I was expecting something else. I was one of many that was looking forward to seeing Smilodon make an appearance. But, in any case, I was pleasantly surprised. Unlike other packs, this one seems like it was more a period than a coma. It feels like a way to end the game. Of course this is just a feeling on my part.

I was just wondering what Frontier would say, will this be the final DLC to JWE2?

The reason why people think the Park Manger's Collection Pack is the final PDLC as a "farewell gift" is both because it's a concept the Frontier social media communities made up as a way to include "everything we want in a single pack before support ends without warning" or to just figure out how they can end content adding support with a "big and valuable content bang" kind of DLC, and because of the fact of the next CMS Jurassic World game coming in FY26 (June 1 2025 - May 31 2026 for Frontier). It makes a lot of sense to them, lots of people including Frontier game content creator YouTubers agree on it, so they jump to it.

Then again, more times than I can count, community assumptions have always turn out wrong one way or another. Sometimes majorly, like console porting being a dead-end sign for Planet Zoo content adding because of Planet Coaster's last PDLC and update nearly two years before its console edition announcement. It's confirmed JWE1 ended when the team moved on to develop JWE2 to explore more storytelling opportunities in a sequel format with Universal's collaboration, as explicitly said by director Rich Newbold on Newsweek shortly after its launch. But this upcoming Jurassic game has been in development since at least sometime in September 2023, based on the financial and annual reports back in that same month, where it was still in scoping stages and then in actual development respectively, nearly eight months before the game's greenlight announcement four days ago. Besides, there's still some things I see still potentially happening at some point.

Some things to Remember,...
1.) JWE III will for shure not be awailyble on PS4 and other older consoles anymore!
That would limit to much the options to give JWE III new Gamemechanics for deeper Teraintools for Lagoons and Aviaries etc.
2.) DLC´s give Frontier a good amount of cash (right now!!!), when they find enough people that want to buy the Pack ! .......And the next DLC (Megalodon & CO ) will for shure be a moneymaker ;)!
3.) Development of JWE has for shure startet and will not bring in Money before Juli 2025 ....
4.) Many Fans on older Consoles would be happy if 1 - 3 DLC´s with some free updates would f.e. bring some Species like Plateosaurus ( Triassic Herbivore), Some Laggonplatform-using Marine species (like Tanystropheus or Machimosaurus Rex) and Species from the new TV show " Caostheory" in JWE II before support ends.

Conclusion.
Frontier could still make a lot of money if they bring out some DLC´s for JWE II in 2024, but only if they don´t need the whole Team for JWE III.
End of 2024 will for shure be the end of new DLC´s for JWE II.
So even its very likely that next DLC will be the last, Frontier surprised us many times this year in many ways.

I tend to agree that we may see 1-3 more JWE2 DLCs for the rest of 2024.

Remember that there was a nearly 2 year break between end of JWE & the launch of JWE2. Still it would be nice if we only had 6-12 months between the end of JWE2 & the launch of JWE3.

I feel like this would be the last PDLC, unless Frontier wants to do an Expansion of some sort.
Its because, if Frontier adds a DLC like this, it makes sense for it to be the last one.
But a new expansion would be an even bigger thing, so it would probably be the only possibly after this one.

If they are making an expansion, it would probably be a Cenozoic or Mammal Expansion.
The only other option might have been a Camp Cretaceous Expansion, but that might not happen due to most of the species from them being added.
And a Mammal/Cenozoic Expansion would be a good way to add the Smilodon and introduce mammals so they could be used in JWE3.

I doubt the company at this point has the resources or time to make such a big project. Although if it could be done, something fun I thought of, an Ice Age pack just in time for winter.

But expansion packs for this game, unlike JWE1’s, are designed with the purpose to fit within the overarching canon that Universal owns. Campaign story and narrative wise I mean, and at least for the DFW campaign as confirmed by Newbold in that same interview I mentioned above, as well as the vibes from how the two Dominion packs are made. Both JWE games aren’t designed to be just mere “paleo zoo CMS simulator games” with the Jurassic brand but designed to be as authentic as possible to the Jurassic World/Park source material, at least when compared to the likes of Ludia’s mobile games which appear to have more creative freedom for animals (real and hybrid alike). So, I doubt this upcoming Jurassic World game, whatever it is, will be an exception because Frontier and Universal, with their established partnership, are not that kind who would do such a thing together.

At this point - I really doubt we will be getting a Cenozoic/Ice Age expansion pack. And personally, I would prefer for that to be something that would be for JWE3.

IF we get a final expansion - I think it will be a small expansion pack related to Camp Cretaceous: Chaos Theory - with 3-4 new species from that show and may be with a location (map) and a brief storyline campaign. But I would expect that to be the final PDLC for JWE2.

I hope this is the last one, so Frontier can invest heavily in the development of JWE3
LOL... To invest in something , there must be 3 things.....
1. Time to work on the Game... ( work on JWE III has most likely began months ago anyway !)
2. People to work on the Game...( Most of the team works on JWE III now....)
3. Money to work on the Game... ( without enough Money you simply can´t invest heavily !!!)

So i think the best way to make JWE III even better ( More terraintools for lagoons and deeper freshwater for boattour and "swimming" dinos like Spino etc.) would be .....
4. using synergyeffects in a company !!!
that means,... a Part of the Team could work on content which can be used for the last 1-3 DLC´s of JWE II AND to be in the Basic content of the final JWE III !
JWE I DID THIS for shure with the last "RTJP- DLC" !!!!
The Aviary was an experiment to see what kind of stuff could work in JWE II and Pteranodon as well as Compys where rigged and animated for JWE I but ready for JWE II !
RTJP-DLC was for shure one off the most sold DLC`S for JWE I and gave Frontier money to make JWE II even better.
So working on Content that still works in JWE II for a DLC but doesn´t need new gamemechanics would make a lot of sence from the financiel point of few.

Rigs and skins as well as some of the basicanimations from JWE II can for shure be used to work on JWE III too !, and some newer and more complicated animations of new creatures will later only be seen on JWE III ( just like better and less static fighting- and walkinganimation for Pterosaurs as well as swimminganimation for spinosaurs f.e.).

So,..... smart management would use the Synergyeffects to raise more money and that for could invest much more in the new game !
Just Remember,... a company must pay the Salaries of the employees,... and if you decide not to get any money frome sales (of NEW CONTENT .... like DLC´s) for over one year could lead to even worse possibilities to invest in the development of JWE III !

Jurassic World Evolution 2 Is Over - How Much Did It Improve? (Re-Review)

Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsSlveL0bn0

The improvement that Jurassic World: Evolution 2 has over its official predecessor includes gameplay and buildings of different eras. The viewing galleries and viewing platforms are not only Jurassic-World-era exclusives; they are also made available in Jurassic Park era, so forth. The next thing are aviaries and lagoons. There are more activities of the Pteranodon in Jurassic World: Evolution 2 than Jurassic World: Evolution 1.

The improvement that Jurassic World: Evolution 2 has both over its official predecessor and Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis includes species variety and the part where herbivores can graze on paleobotany.

Unfortunately, Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis' dinosaur cohabitation element fares better than Jurassic World: Evolution 2. Therefore, Jurassic World: Evolution 2 lost points mainly in the dinosaur cohabitation element.

If I were to give Jurassic World: Evolution 2 a score out of 100, I would say 69 at the very least.

Apologies if there are bad news, Frontier Unlocked of June 2024 made no mention regarding anything related to Jurassic World: Evolution.

We're still missing skins and patterns for the Triceratops Tyrannosaurus Rex and Parasaurolophus.

Tyrannosaurus Rex 65 Million Yrs Variant - 8 Skin Colors + 8 Skin Patterns.

Triceratops 1993 Variant- 8 Skin Colors + 8 Skin Patterns.

Parasaurolophus 2022 Variant - 8 Skin Colors + 8 Skin Patterns.

I'm hoping that they'll update the game with this before they move on to the next completely. If not then I hope that they will do it for Jurassic world Evolution 3, because it doesn't feel complete without these three variants having their own complete beautiful skins.

I don't think so. The game maybe near the end of its lifespan, but from my experience when a company intends to stop updating and supporting a game, they will generally tell you. When Ubisoft decided to stop supporting Ghost Recon Breakpoint, they released a statement saying they were ending their support of it. While it is a different company and a different game genre, the same should hold true here because of professional standards. Given how well Frontier handles themselves, I believe they would likely tell us before terminating support for one of their games. I'll include the link for an article that confirms this here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/paulta...int-support-congratulates-defunct-nft-owners/
