THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

That was the Rift story I was interested in - the lurking evil that Salome had CoR set up listening posts to get advance warning off.

Obviously it was the Thargoids, and CoR were just crap at detecting them and they got to the Pleiades before anyone noticed. C'mon, get with the story. ;-)

Whilst I wouldn't trust CoR to TELL me it was the Thargoids, even while I'm being hyperdicted, I do credit them with enough savvy to not mistake Heart and Soul for the Pleiades :D

Were those listening posts even in Premonition? I can't recall now. They may not exist as canon.

Could be something else entirely from out them ways. Bovomit Perhaps? Unlikely i know but its the only locked region of space out that way.

Lost Guardian worlds with live Guardians, rogue AI colonies, space whales. Axe-wielding penguins. The possibilities are endless...

Edit: More beige planets.

Their Consuls are who decide for all the cultists if Heart and Soul have moved to the Pleiades by the will of their belief or not.
So far fetched ... :p

There is also Sidgoir that is a few KLY farther down the Outer Arm. Sidgoir is much smaller than the other permit-locked zones, however, being only 200LY across, whereas the others are 1KLY (Bleia and Praei are both composed of five groups of 1KLY diameter permit-locked sectors ). My current expedition is to explore the borders of all the distant permit-locked regions and I have completed surveys of both Bovomit and Sidgoir. On the Bovomit border I found a system with 12 moons that had surface conditions compatible with organics and CMDR ModishNouns went out there to look for some, and found nothing: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...x-Expedition?p=6113877&viewfull=1#post6113877
My conclusion is that there is no Guardian presence near Bovomit. Something else must be behind the reason for the permit lock.

I vaguely recall the CoR listening posts making GalNet - which would make them canon.

[Erimus, stop lurking and confirm, there's a good chap ;)]

And also, lol :D

Not a clue. I seem to have been the first person that noticed it was unlocked again, yesterday. Of course my memory of when and why it was unlocked could have been hexedited.

I was checking periodically, just out of boredom.
It can't have been unlocked for more than 3 days before Clavain spotted it.

Apparently it was originally accessible but became permit locked a while ago. There was an FDev comment on the permits thread along the lines of “ nobody is supposed to have the Isinor permit yet”

Isinor has been permit locked form the beginning. It was just like any other permit locked system that players could get the permit by getting allied to the permit giving faction (in this case "Chapter of Isinor"). If you look at GalMap you will notice that that faction has spread around that region a bit.

I spotted Drew Wagar flying towards Zurara about a month ago, so maybe something is boiling up :)

Please, how do you know where he was flying to ? Did you interact ? Did you try to follow him ? Open mode or group? Seven Veils Clipper ? CMDR name ? not Salomé ! :)

Interesting, contradicts this FD post https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/176824-Isinor-Permit?p=2722663&viewfull=1#post2722663
perhaps a bug in the permit lock

edit: ah I see, the Isinor permit was blocked by FD around 1.3 release & nobody is supposed to have it but if you got it before then you’ll still have it.

Doesn't really contradict the FD posts.

It was possible to get the Isinor permit from the beginning in 1.0.
Players got the permit the normal way.
Apparently FD removed the option to get the permit sometime later.
Players who got that permit before that still have the permit.

What's strange is that FD added CQC assets later even if they assumed that that system is not accessible for players.
