Which might suggest her beef with Patreus is personal and not necessarily directly related to the Rift.
As an aside, I wonder if its possible that some of the cargo being transported out of RnR (at least to the agri bases in the 3 locations) is the toxic grain that Walden developed and planned to spread around the galaxy.
Now we just need someone in the Imperial court to start whispering that CoR and Kahina had connections to Emperors Dawn and the circle will be complete.
I'd try and muster an evil laugh but I used them all up at work.

Ah, have you considered the possibility that MB is actually a clone, produced by Walden's techniques but actually created by Thargoids to sow anxiety and mistrust of the Alliance before a full scale invasion starts?

Actually I would not be surprised if Patreus himself was bankrolling Emperor's Dawn. That was all kicking off around the time of the choosing of a new Emperor. He sets up the threat, then triumphantly crushes it. Notice how Emperor's Dawn vanished altogether after ALD took the throne and Patreus no-longer needed them.
Thinking about Emperors Dawn - what I found interesting about that episode was the willingness of the Federation to co-operate, at least in public.

It's waved like a big red flag in the original Kahina disappearance GalNets, but I barely paid it any attention.

1) We know someone gets back from the Rift because of the old Lady that Salome met, wouldn't she have passed that info onto The Children of Raxxla? (CoR)
2) Salome and Hassan headed out to the rift, discover and recover 'something' and then return. The 'Something' is hidden.
3) The Alien Ships have turned up and are scanning other ships looking for the 'Something' that was taken?
4) The Heart and Soul Nebula are Front and Center of the Rift Mystery (According to drew). What about drawing a line from the center of the Heart (Front) Nebula, through the Soul (Center) Nebula and see if there's a third Nebula along that route? (Probably the most tin foil of the lot) Are any of the discovered bases found on that route?

Does anyone else find it a bit strange that Jasmina Halsey needs Tantalum for a refugee center? Isn't that a vital element for use in Frame Shift Drives?

Are you reading this on a computer of smart phone? You've probably got a tantalum capacitor in that device. Tantalum has lots of uses beyond FSDs.
I know this would be a pain in the backside but couldn't we just follow Salomé's trail. Find a system she tagged bookmark it then jump to the surrounding systems till you find another, and bookmark it then repeat the process till you get somewhat of an idea on the direction she was traveling. We could also figure out her average jump range.
