Salome's Message
I'm awesome. Really, really amazing. I found all this stuff out and you plebs didn't, so make me Queen of the Galaxy.
Also, Patreus is a poo-face!
Hey Drew!
Just for a laugh, have Salome roll up on the Pilot Ejection Table

(Don't tell us the results, though. She's dead for the story, that's good with me. I just mean for your own personal curiosity)
Salomé's message was not delivered due to the outcome of the event. Players changed the story once again.
Cheers,
Drew.
If he wanted Salomé to survive he would have take people of her friends list, as this did not happend her chances were extremely slim, and I'm sure he was aware. I'm sure it was more about to see how we players can go about it and influence the story, rather than trying to save her. We were experimented upon![]()
Is it possible to have some clarification on this?
It was said before the event, that if even one of the conspirators make it through then the secret will be revealed. The secret is found at the listening posts right?
However, you are saying Salome had a separate message, that will now not be revealed. This seems different to what was said before the even (unless I am missing something, which is very possible).
Whilst it's understandable why Salome cannot now give her victory message - I'm assuming that the secret that the conspirators were to reveal, has now been revealed, right?
Yes , drew lied!
Already the xbox player could influence nothing in the present case.
Is in addition the information of teorge was already known! ....
The most funny "drew" is to hear you say that the beacons was already ...
If drew had told the truth, then we would have known that ONLY salome had a REAL information to give! ! Or rather to bring back since the other stays already in ( teorge).
Instead of that ! We were made to believe that the information was unique and given to 4 character, the mission was therefore only one arrived here , if that was possible !!!!! ...
SO !
We chose to play the game, to divide ourselves to save the server ... (T_T)
Drew chose to change the rules, may, after the game .... (^_^).
To finish successful mission! 1200 participants! 0 gain! And a book? that's right ?
The best blow of pub (with nothing) of all time. Gg drew!
I can see people who love!
Drew, you're a genius!
To make an end
Is to make nothing!
Exept a book. $$$
I'm not going to lie to you all, I do feel particularly bitter about the whole debacle, and that may come through my post.
However I am forming the opinion that she was set up to die so Drew could get another book or two out of the rift mystery story line. In essence if Salomé had survived last nights instancing, trechery and betrayal, Drew was duty bount to spill the beans on who was behind the rift expedition and why they did it,, a very dramatic climactical ending for a book. Now that shes dead, having died in the last couple of chapters as part of a sudden but inevitable betrayal (such a bad cliche as an author's literary mechanism); the other accomplices / survivors, who are seemingly clueless as to what Salomé knew will have to retrace her steps of inquiry and thats going to take longer than the remainder of premonition. BOOM - We just guessed the plot of the next couple of books, Raan Corsen and Tsu Annabelle Sing retracing the clues and riddles of the formadine rift mystery. If it took Salomé a couple of books to get to the end of the riddle, and she was a woman of exceptional character, that other pair of fugitives will take at least that long so there is volume three and possibly 4 of the saga. Pad that out with some alien stuff actually happening and wow, theres book 5.
So who killed Salomé? Either FD or Drew, not Harry Potter. FD were guilty of terrible network code stopping her wingmen getting to her in time, Drew built her up for a fall and put a target on her head, and Harry Potter? Well he's just a dumb oaf who shoots stuff and did exactly what was expected by all concerned.
Is it possible to have some clarification on this?
It was said before the event (in numerous places, including by you in the recent interview), that if even one of the conspirators make it through then the secret will be revealed. The secret is found at the listening posts right?
However, you are saying Salome had a separate message, that will now not be revealed. This seems different to what was said before the event (unless I am missing something, which is very possible).

Yeah, that'd be what I saw in Tionisla. Didn't get it on video though
Hi Folks,
Apologies for delay in responding, as 1, I was knackered, and 2, I've only just finished carting all my computers and network gear back upstairs where they belong.
I'm posting here first out of all possible locations because you are the folks who've been following this the longest and deserve the explanation first. A few things went awry last night (inevitably) and as a result of that not everything was as clear as I would have liked.
The objective of the chase was to reach the Tionisla system from 46 Eridani. All four protagonists had that goal. There they were to rendezvous with the Cor Meum Et Animam Cobra that was positioned in the 'Encrypted Transmission' tourist beacon (in lieu of not having a graveyard at this point in time).
That Cobra would (rather like the EAFOTS transmission in Galnet) give off a transmission, requiring the protagonists to seek the Teorge system, there to find the transmission logs left by Rebecca.
Tsu got there first, followed by Raan and Yuri. Unfortunately, due connection issues, we could not get the Cobra to instance correctly with the protagonists. Thus we had to give the clue manually. As you all know, the logs had already been found by this point (ironically) by one of you. Spoilers of course, but the show had to go on. Thus the message was revealed, but not in the way I had hoped or anticipated. The logs are server side content which had to be placed in prior to the event, so there was always risk this would happen.
Salomé was due to make one of her customary speeches on arrival, but alas, she was killed. More detail would have been contained therein. That avenue is now closed. We did intend to reveal some of that along the way, but it proved simply too hectic to do so - we had no let up during the 2 hours. It was constant and exhausting. Dozens of PvPers were interdicted out of Salomé's way by allied forces during that time.
Whilst Harry Potter did finish Salomé off, her ship was badly wounded after almost 2 hours of evading interdiction by hardened PvP players. Her hull was intact, but despite exhausting an AFMU (refilled twice) and using all our stored Jumponium, when she was interdicted that time she suffered fatal damage to chaff, weapons, and FSD drive. We also suffered from the wing partners not being able to dewake alongside, thus she was alone, damaged and without weapons or means to escape. The result at that point was inevitable.
Cheers,
Drew.
Dear friends of the Rift thread:
So i just finished getting caught up on ALL the posts from the last 36 hours (I must be a glutton for punishment) and it seems this community has a much different feel from where it was even a few months ago. Nowhere near as friendly to be sure. It was the rift mystery and the previous rift threads and the people in them that convinced me to buy the game in the first place. I had followed every rift thread and read every post with keen fervor, mostly lurking at the beginning, but still felt like i was getting to know all of you. As time went on I got more and more involved, made some friends, made some discoveries, and it had been one of the best experiences in my 25+ year PC gaming career (so to speak).
Reading everything on the very thread that I have come to love that's been posted over the last day or two has left me feeling a bit disappointed, and let down. Some peoples attitudes have been reprehensible. There's definitely some newer faces on the thread that seem to be much more toxic than the old guard, and that's a shame as it seems to have shifted the ambiance of this thread away from its original friendly nature of mutual discovery and exploration that we all shared. There have been lots of posts perpetuating information that's untrue, and that in fact already been cleared up in previous posts. I'd like to think most here would post informed messages, where they would have vetted the information, or at least stayed up to date, but it seems the need to sling mud, cast blame, and launch personal attacks was too strong for some. This has left me feeling saddened. It's like being betrayed by old friends.
At this point, i sincerely hope we can put all this behind us and get back to the helpful, friendly, and supportive attitudes that set this thread apart from all the rest in the first place. We still have much to figure out and there's plenty of tinfoil to go around.
That, and now my head hurts from all the facepalming.
… After-all, the "information" that we protected the characters for was information we already knew.
But now we know for sure, before that we had very good theories that explained what was found. Now we have proof - unless R. lied in the logs. The theories where right.
It might not feel new, but it changed what we have. In my opinion that's important.
Something ended, and something started.
And now a real burden lies upon our shoulders.
What do we do with the information we have?
For the first time it's not just about finding information, it's about morale, decisions and consequences on a large scale.
What is the right thing to do?
Yes, this is something I would like to talk about. What can we do next, what does make sense to do next... Get out the tinfoil hats if need be!![]()
Drew has explained this on his website and in this thread. (Did that sound rude? I didn't mean it to sound rude)
