Its ambiguous,
"It's a long way, so make sure you're prepped, no one will be around to help you out. Once you reach the rift you're going to have to plot a way across"
Citing the Old Lady: "Once you reach the rift you're going to have to plot a way across." But I have an idea, what if the Rift is not stretching from galactic arm to galactic arm, what if Drew was exact, when he said, that the map from Erimus is broadly correct. What if the Rift is much thinner including only the area, where the jumps are starting to be longer (dozens of light years, to cite the Old Lady again, ergo 24ly minimum. What if the diagram is something like this: galactic arm - sufficient star density - Formidine Rift - sufficient star density - second galactic arm. That will narrow the area of search quite significantly.

Also she "the old lady" made it as far as the Rift, yet she tells them they have to cross. 0.o
I think everyone is reading too much into things. E.g. trying to see if there is some sort of code in what has been said. I am sure that when the answer is eventually found, you will all be doing lots of face-palms and kicking yourselves for being too complicated in the analysis.

Not to mention that she is a bit crazy overall, not to mention admittedly brainwashed. Not exactly the person who's advice you would use to plan a expedition to the edge of the Galaxy... I wouldn't even trust here advice on what to watch on TV (or future entertainment broadcast format)

I can find the following bits of information on it in posts, which I guess is where your coming from to.

"Once you reach the rift youre going to have to plot a way across" (Implying you need to well, plot a way across)
But it maybe just implying you need to plot your way across, but not all the way to the other side.
Once weird bit in the "video played" fact is mention of coodinates are at the end of the message, and take your time, watch your six. Why imply that, is "six" a number of value?
Going to be with pen and pencil whilst I plot my next few jumps....

What if this is a sector reference, -12 -(48? to go with RR line) -6 is nicely in the rift. I think it is time to head back to the core systems. Now.
I know many of you are beta testers and as such, we should test. As to how clues should work in the future. Right now we have nothing. We are trying to crawl around a galactic map that means nothing. We cannot mess with 3d vectors in game. We have no evidence of anything but what we have. Keep your mystical references Drew. Whatever deviousness you have cooked up for us is not accessible to us as a group, and it is not working as a gameplay mechanic.
