Hi guys...

In the MYOIDEE UY-S D3-4 system... Darned N star knocked 2% off my hull. Anyhow...there is a single landable approx. 160k from the central star... and guess what?

Its flashing! On the way there now to check it out. Its unmapped.

Could you Upload some Screenshots? Sounds interesting :)

I must add....I wouldn't change this game for the world....Nothing has had my full attention like this since I learned black libery was finally writing the horus heresy:p

Yeah well... Maybe it's time to tell you guys about it. because i have been trying to get there for a week now.
Last week i told you guys about a dark system i found. It is phroea hypa vk-m a34-0

Look at it at the system map. Play around zooming in and out.

When i first discovered it i was les then a 1000 ly away. It took me no time to get there i thought..

But this bucked of stars is schielded. i cant get closer than 142 ly. and i have been trying for a week now.

So a red bubble of stars with a brick wall around it. This must be important.
The longer it takes the more i am certain this must be "it"

But i could be wrong though :p

Everything needs looking at mate. Like I've said. I'll try to get there from the other side. Follow all possible leads :)

How can you not get there? Is your Range too low?

Before i head out again,

Im going first to become allied to the Pilote federation & The Dark Wheel.

does somebody know
Wolf Reach a planet base of the Dark wheel in Shinrarta Dezhra, can you only land there when you are allied of is it just locked to get docking permissions?

31 til 34ly range... Should be enough :)

Now drew said it's been possible since launch. That doesn't make it easy. Finding one jump route in all these stars.....and the way the gal map works...in insane. Especially the way the route finder works inside the rift lol...crazy.
Maby what we are looking for is inside the rift.....maby some part of the rift has been hand crafted to only let specific jump ranges thru?....the hole rift when you are inside realy feels like a maze. But we can "start" the rift at the bridge...where does it end? We could count the rift "if we have it rite" as leading all the way down the arm to the other quadrant. Massive.

My point is...any patterns we see inside the rift requir looking into. No matter how small. :) nice find leut. o7

It is beyond the Rift so it is not in the Rift, It must be the Bovomit systems.
Why did Kahina travel to Beagle point, we know Kahina=Drew traveling, so maybe he needed to do this to become elite explorer, that will lift the requires to enter Bovomit.

so any elite explorer out there need to try this out.

Well, if that isn't throwing down the gauntlet, I don't know what else is :D Bring it on rifters :D

I'd like to reiterate what a couple of others have said on here - no idea, and no amount of tinfoil, is too much or too silly......

There is a puzzle here, and we don't have all the pieces (yet). But it will come. We need to examine every clue and every lead. Some we'll discard, and some we'll hang onto. And slowly the pieces will reveal themselves, and we'll finally know the 'mystery of the rift'... and remember, we don't even know what 'it' is yet... a system? a wreckage? a sentient race, or a bigger mystery to solve?

I've been a little out of it this past week... will have to get foiled up and back on track :D

I've been listening to the Elite Reclamation audiobook all week and just got to chapter 10. A couple of things jumped out at me about the way the old lady tells her story to Salomé. At one point she says "I lost..." and then stops. What did she lose?

Also, when she says "there was some serious s**t out there, stuff you wouldn’t believe", and finishes "Ah, it’ll all come back to bite them one day, it’s all there in the Imperial databanks somewhere - and they thought the Thargoids were trouble" - it's entirely possible that the thargoid reference is referring to what's in the rift.

I can't say for sure without reading or listening to the book, but if the old lady is Rebecca Weston then it's probably not "what" she lost but rather "who." The main supporting character of Drew's Oolite saga was Jim Feynman, who had a rather stormy relationship with the heroine, Rebecca Tyley (later Weston.) Without spoiling the plot of the saga, I can say that at one point they wound up staying together for a long time, but Rebecca was always a pilot at heart.

If you want to read the saga before hearing some tinfoil that could potentially spoil the story for you, then you can find that here: http://www.drewwagar.com/books/oolitesaga/

Okay, so at this point Rebecca is old, and has been exploring, and she apparently is the widow of Jim Feynman. Here's the bit that sticks in my craw: are these characters simply used as a nod to the previous Oolite saga? Or is Drew hinting at the possibility that the timeline of Elite: Dangerous follows one of the specific timelines in his saga? If that's the case, then if we know which one it is we can begin to close in on exactly what we're looking for: namely, Raxxla... Or the system in Chart Two where all the non-human sapients were evacuated to. Well, I think that if we're in one of those timelines then it must be the first one or the final one, because those are the only ones where Rebecca and Jim presumably live long lives. So how does that help us? Frankly I'm not sure, but Raxxla is a rocky world with little or no atmosphere and the hidden world is definitely an Earth-like. But if it's the fist timeline then Rebecca and Jim would be high up in the Dark Wheel and would have been jumping through time and space for years. In fact, they may be the only actual members of the Dark Wheel. So Jim might not have been dead after all, if by "lost" she meant they had a falling out. She would have gone into space and he would have continued the Dark Wheel's mission of keeping Raxxla safe and helping Humanity to survive.

Frankly, I have no idea if any of this connects with the current mystery, but the character seems to exist in our timeline so the connection may actually be there somehow.

There are no stars for dozens of light years and the dark systems haven't been mapped, so take your time, watch your six
Has this bit been addressed? The dark systems? Maybe we shouldn't look for a colorful nebula made of ionized gas but look for dark nebula or absorption nebula?
.
Btw, the dark part of or galaxy is called great rift.
Outside on a dark summer night, looking edgewise into our galaxy’s disk, you’ll notice a long, dark lane dividing the bright starry band of the Milky Way. This is the Great Rift.
Maybe we have to get to the end of the great rift, and take it from there, where ever there might be.
Just a part of it, the line in the center is the Great Rift

The Great Rift and the Milky Way pass through the Summer Triangle and above the Teapot asterism in Sagittarius

This is a false statement. Drew stated as one of his clues "There is no requierment for rank . Anyone can find it."

Sorry Gypsy12 I had to go afk. Hopefully I'll see you online soon mate:)

The systems leut has found are a real interest. I've not seen anywhere inside the rift like it. Pluss the fact that the cluster of stars all seem to be brown drawfs. And are inline with the h/s nebula. Well worth looking into. I couldn't even see it when I looked at the gal map without zooming in and out and paning around. Then it became clear.

Will report anything if we can get there :p

when He said that is was maybe true, but you know he was last year a little bit angry on frontier, the reason that the seven veils was dismantled on prism
It can be that Frontier have changed it, like they did that there now not anymore Dark wheel missions spawn all over the systems but that you need to go to Shinrarta Deshra

Arg! So what you are saying is.....there may be discrepancies (lol..my spelling) to the clues and in game mechanic's. :S

I'm at the black hole in the Heart Nebula in HEART SECTOR ZE-A E11. All that's there is the hole, a Brown Dwarf with a single gas giant with water based life orbiting. One of the odd things about the gas giant is that it's utterly, completely, dark. I would've hoped that the Brown Dwarf less than 150Ls away would throw a bit of light, but nope. I was planning on having a dip into the two rings, but I can't even see them :S
