The game just needs more features

I want to preface this comment, this is a whole lot of opinions so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

I am 100% aware that this game is not planned to have any marine reptiles or pterosaurs. Posting about that would end up being redundant and at this point, annoying. (although synapsids would be cool) I just think that there isn't a whole lot to unpack with this game. After the first couple of islands, you've seen most of what the game has for you. I am not saying that what I did play was not enjoyable because it certainly was but now that I've done the campaign and fooled around with the challenge modes that there is not a lot left for me personally. A good portion of the dinosaurs have the same animations, which are beautiful but get old after a while. I'm not going to harp on the Raptors since I'm sure that has been done a million and a half times already. At least the pack system is something. I just want more to do, more creativity, more unique things, etc. I like this game but it personally got boring for me. Again, my opinions.

It's been confirmed that they don't have any plans for marine reptiles or pterosaurs at the moment. But who knows, this might still change in the future. New content that we likely can expect in the future is more dinosaur packs and probably expansions on already existing game mechanics.
I also wouldn't be surprised if there was some type of DLC in the works that adds some more decorations or perhaps better terrain tools as those are probably the most requested features. Of course much of this is conjecture. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

It's hard to request features when you don't know what's possible and what isn't

I know as cool as this game is it has limitations as far as what kind of features it could have... for example i know adding marine or aviary dinosaurs is not possible cause the game doesn't work that way it's just not designed for that to be possible

when thinking about ideas for the game you have to think about what's possible within the game and you do that by looking at the things the game currently has and the way it currently works and base your ideas from there......for example i know it's possible for more animations and different buildings, vehicles, fences, etc because the game already has this

different terrain tools i'm not sure if that's possible, since otherwise i imagine the game would've already had this.....i personally want more kill and fight animations and basically more animations in general

I think everything is possible, the only problem is how much time and work will take and if they are worth it

changing the sizes was obvious it wasn't impossible it was a no brainer that's why they eventually did it

They didn't say so. Anyway, how do you know it was really a "no brainer"? Do you actually know the game's code? Do you know exactly how they've coded every aspect of it?

Adding features and expanding a game is something basic nowadays. More often than not, new features leave the base game almost completely different, and not only by just adding new maps and items.

I think everything is possible, the only problem is how much time and work will take and if they are worth it

Well, both Avian and Aquatic creatures would have to be added eventually, because otherwise the game won't keep people's interest long enough.

Which is why I never asked for specific features in my post. However I'm pretty sure frontier can do just about anything they want in their engine within limitations, (I don't know for sure but the size change was supposedly impossible too) the question is, will they?

Where's the fun in that? Why can't they hide it from us for a while? It's only around a 2.5 month gap between updates.

Hey Jack1253,

Thanks for letting us know your thoughts, it's always good to hear feedback like this, even without a mention of specific features - more stuff to do is still definitely valuable! :)

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of what is and isn't reasonably possible in your game's engine but a start is interesting dinosaurs. They are just bland in this game, especially the raptors. I also think that maybe enclosure should've been more interactable if I'm not mistaken I have seen maintenance routes for Jeeps in early screenshots where you could make a path for them to drive through. I don't see the former happening since it's a bit late to introduce something small like that. The gameplay loop just needs to be shaken up a bit more, there's gotta be more to do. I appreciate the communication on the community manager's parts though since I'm sure this can't be easy to do.
