im confused, the path and the coaster builder work very much the same as hes explaining...at least for me, the only problem i sometimes have with the coaster builder, is when you go down or start going upside down the the ability to move the track left or right is severly hindered, for instance if a make a half loop dive, but i want it to turn 60 degrees to the left coming out of it starting from the top, it wont allow me to, theres a work around of building your track from the back and then letting auto attach do this then smoothing, but that in itself is frustrating if your doing this in the middle of the build.
as for the path system, it works just like cities skylines without the visual grid being there, it just has issues right now that need to be worked out.

I think the coaster editor is now wonderful.
The in-world controls for manipulating the track make total sense to me, the pre-defined track elements are now of great quality and there are a huge number to choose from too.
I think the updated options between Alpha 2 and 3 are great too, much more intuitive in particular the track selection tool.
The only thing I think that could be done better at this point is auto-removal of trees and bushes when they are in the way.
also the restrictions of turning a track at vertical, making it difficult to go in a large direction change out of a loop. currently when your vertical, the left and right act almost the same way as the banking does, only slightly moving the track itself as a difference, they need to allow the track to be moved much more so that we can come out of a vertical track at a large angle to change directions.
