There are most certainly people who definitely want this animal. Just because it goes against the norm doesn't been the demand is not genuine. I also personally don't want it if it means we don't get a baboon or even gelada though.
The golden snub-nosed monkey ahead a lot going for it. It’s cute and colourful, unlike the gelada or the hideous Hamadryas baboon. It’s also been featured prominently in the media, including in Planet Earth, His Dark Materials.
To be quite honest, this could be a mountain pack mascot over an African monkey, markhor or spectacled bear.
Additionally people want a varied monkey selection in game and the golden snub-nosed monkey is different from all the other monkeys that are likely to make (possible exception being golden lion tamarin, purely because of colour)
Definitely not, I actually want this monkey over baboons.
Same here. It is one of my favorite primates for real. I will not be upset if we get the gelada instead but will be actually really happy if instead they give us the GSNM. Both of them are in my wishlist, but gelada ranks lower than this one for me.

Why don't you just expand this and demand a Gold pack?

Golden eagle dude.
Its blue face and almost total lack of nose makes it look like a frostbitten corpse. Very strongly in the no thanks category - it would be another one of those monkeys that I basically never use.
The gelada was also featured on planet earth. Just saying. As for the GSNM I don’t mind either way if it gets in or not so not against it. Have to admit not my first pick as I favor new world monkeys and baboons over these guys.
My old world monkey choice would definitely be these guys.
