The great big Odyssey Screenshots thread

Here is an illustration of the fog effect differences I mentioned above.
This is Odyssey release:

This is alpha:

These are different planets, unfortunately. I will need to go back to the alpha bubble to do a fair comparison. But it illustrates the point. I can't find the planet fog anywhere in the release build, except in rings.

I realize there has been much controversy around the graphics for Odyssey. And I have experienced some locations that definitely felt like a downgrade... but I've also experienced some locations that felt like an upgrade. I believe that given time Frontier will get the quality bar back up to Horizons and then beyond. I get the impression that the entire rendering engine was refactored for Odyssey and that we are just going to experience some teething pains while they get it dialed in.

To this end, last night I went to Maia, one of my favorite systems just to see how things changed. I have particular interest in Black Holes. The one in Maia is small, so I didn't expect to see an accretion disk. But I feel there was a quality boost. As I approached the core, the lighting changed and it was strangely emissive and illuminated the space around it. The gravitational lensing seemed much more pronounced as well.

Game running in ultrawide, ultra-graphics with a custom ReShade pipeline. Raw game captures, no Photoshop.

You... can't remember the planet... Nooooooo!

I promise I will check flight log when Inara or EDSM will cooperate with Frontier server and I will return to you with answer :)

As I promised, I checked flight logs... On May 19th I landed only on 2 planets:
Nunus 6 A
HR 8268 2 A
It seems that blue sky one is Nunus 6A and green is HR 8268 2 A

What's the name of the planet on 2,3 and 4 screenshots?

Honestly not sure. But I can easily find out for you as I set down on it for the night :)
It's one of the atmospheric planets close to the black hole, so roughly 300,000LS from the main-sequence entry star. A bit of a haul, but well worth it :)
