Woke up this morning to a stunning sunset. Cue a photoshoot with TFS Mina's Tears.

This region of space is so colourful.

The one place we cannot visit is the Horsehead Nebula. I remember taking my Asp Explorer into what seemed to be a wave of gases that seemed ready to crash over you...

There are, however, two stars really close that you can reach!

Imagine my surprise to discover these notable stellar phenomena!

If you gently bump them, they sing to you...

The Caeruleum Langrange Cloud was something to behold... but it did not prepare me for what came next...

A Viride Langrange Cloud so dark it was like an eternal void. You could not see anything until you were about to bump into it...

Fantastic and creepy stuff...

Another day - another set of beautiful shots from a beautiful region of the Galaxy. First off - one black hole:

No, really - it's there. It's really tiny but it's there.

It was a blink and you'll miss it moment. This is the closest we can get to the Horsehead Nebula. Here it is being overshadowed by Barnard's Loop.

The next system - an untouched methane world...

The Sulphur Dioxide atmosphere provides the backdrop to this landing.

Out for a pre-dawn jog.

Have a good one, CMDRs. o7!

Good morning CMDRs,

This short expedition is drawing to a close, but not without a few examples of the beauty of this part of the Galaxy:
6yZam7k.png

There were only a handful of places where you could find all the biological samples in one place on this planet - and they happened to be in valleys such as this one!

Which provided for some interesting collections

Moving on swiftly

JCEtr3H.png

I don't know what it is about volcanic activity that attracts such attention...
RMPxKAH.png

We tried to get as close as possible to measure the temperature at the edge of this fully active feature - and it was well over 1000k
0KmQGLp.png

We wondered how the Dolphin's excellent heat dispersion profile could handle it - after all - scooping at a type B star barely hits 65%... But systems were overwhelmed and we have some systems damage as a result.

A lesson to leave well alone.

As we prepare to head home, I just needed to get a few shots in of the beautiful and mystifying Horsehead Nebula that is, for now, beyond our reach.

A final quick look back while heading home.

Twinned with a Water World - the Second Water World in this system.

This would be a stunning place to spend a night or two...
lSXtoOn.png

All the better to spend it in a Saud Kruger ship - Luxury at it's best... Oh, who am I kidding...

Finally home.

Hmm. I note they have tidied up the hanger, but someone has still left their lunch box.

Oh come on guys... Please - it doesn't take much to put your trash in the bin!

I am home and am happy to be so.
