I don't have four accounts, I just kept buying FC's in the hope that I would find a use for them, the only use I can see is parking it in a ring and mining stuff in my 720T Cutter and once I fill up the FC's cargo bay with stuff, move the FC to a good buying station, ad infinitum! no other use as far as I can see, so I keep selling FC's and then buying again each time I need to go mining. Rather than park it up for weeks at a time, although it wouldn't matter as I get 5 million credits every week with Lian You (or whatever he's called) which would pay half of my weekly FC running costs, be we aged ones are fairly frugal.Don't listen to the young'uns. If you want to take a break, you do so. This community will still be here to welcome you back like a long time friend that owes you money.
Two things I do want to say though .... FOUR ACCOUNTS? I am not surprised you feel burnt out with all the grind.
And, it is possible to progress through the game without actively trying to grind for it. This is what people mean when they say "don't grind". You can amble around in the game and still progress, it just depends how fast you want to progress.
I've been playing since day 1 of the Alpha back in 2014. I haven't rushed to do anything. Only last night did I buy a Corvette for the first time ever (still not flown it out of the station yet). Yes, it's taking me a lot longer to do stuff than some (or many) others, but I am playing at my own pace and setting my own goals. The one thing I don't think I'll ever do, is get burnt out.
I hope you enjoy FS2020 .... I'm not jealous at all, nope not at all ... you lucky sausage![]()
Have your tried turning your keyboard the right way around? You're only a few years older than me... I also find that the keyboard occasionally moves all of the keys around to confuse me...
AS long as they are Jacobs?I also have an announcement of my own. After only eating un-buttered crackers for the last couple of years, I will no longer be eating un-buttered crackers. I feel sure that cracker manufacturers could do more to make the habit of only eating un-buttered crackers more fresh and appetising but they seem not to care.
It surprises me that we seem to have a lot of retired commanders playing ED, I've encountered quite a lot over the last 4.5 years on this forum. We have the time!!!You're only a few years older than me... I also find that the keyboard occasionally moves all of the keys around to confuse me...
Nice to hear I'm not alone in my decision to take a break, Elite Dangerous makes you want to Grind just by it's very nature, everyone wants the bigger ships with the best equipment, I don't know many commanders still flying around in a Sidewinder after 4.5 years.OP.
Halifax eh? You're a 15 mins drive down the road from me.
Good call on your break CMDR. I took a 2 year break and played other stuff, became a forum undead, then reset my CMDR. I've fallen back in love with Elite.
Speed build sideys are great fun.Nice to hear I'm not alone in my decision to take a break, Elite Dangerous makes you want to Grind just by it's very nature, everyone wants the bigger ships with the best equipment, I don't know many commanders still flying around in a Sidewinder after 4.5 years.
Who are you calling "young'uns", young man? Is this a game to you?
I played Elite back in the BBC Model B days and I have played every version of Microsoft Flight Simulator from the first (wire frame graphics only) to the new one.Who are you calling "young'uns", young man? Is this a game to you?
So basically this forum is almost like a geriatrics forum. I wonder how many people born before 1984 play this game.I played Elite back in the BBC Model B days and I have played every version of Microsoft Flight Simulator from the first (wire frame graphics only) to the new one.
That's exactly what I'm going to do, Elite Dangerous is a GREAT game as is FS2002 but they all have the possibility of burn out, even Assasins Creed!I think I have found the problem, we were all much younger when we started playing... sometime around 1984 I believe. You young-un have a lot of catching up to do
Regardless of your age, if you feeling burnt out... take a break. You can come back later with fresh (if somewhat older) eyes.
Do you have a problem with that? my generation created computers...So basically this forum is almost like a geriatrics forum. I wonder how many people born before 1984 play this game.
I tried that but it's a Japanese keyboard.Have your tried turning your keyboard the right way around?
Sorry if that came out wrong, it was trying to be tongue-in-cheek, I am also old, mate.Do you have a problem with that? my generation created computers...

Seriously, is it only us old farts that play this game?
My mistake.I don't have four accounts, I just kept buying FC's in the hope that I would find a use for them, the only use I can see is parking it in a ring and mining stuff in my 720T Cutter and once I fill up the FC's cargo bay with stuff, move the FC to a good buying station, ad infinitum! no other use as far as I can see, so I keep selling FC's and then buying again each time I need to go mining. No I didn't take it wrong, but on this forum we do get a lot of young'uns who, of course know everything about everything, and it is a fact that my generation invented computers just so that these young'uns know, if they are reading these posts.Sorry if that came out wrong, it was trying to be tongue-in-cheek, I am also old, mate.
