The Guests...

There are only 3 guests in the game and to be blunt, I hate them. They are designed after the 3 tech trees in the game and I think having a bunch of scientists and mercenaries running around your park looks kind of stupid. I would much rather have normal looking guests that are generated in a similar way to Planet Coaster.
Tell me what you guys think.

I think that in the final version of the game there will be more variety, since the Gameplay Version is still in development. BEST IN SLOT in his video said that in the final version there were going to be some changes and that the developers heard their small reservations ...

For me it makes sense to have classes of guests looking for different things, security/science/entertainment. They'll presumably have AI's tuned to that and would possibly each even have a different look. I think they'll probably get different skins by the time of release - which is eight plus weeks away - myself, only because if I was designing a game like JWE, functions and dinosaurs would be front and centre and how the guests look, would be a finishing touch, especially if you have an guest randomiser widget (from Planet Coaster) you can - relatively easily - slot in near the end. I think it will happen either just before or very soon after release, that the dinosaur food, I mean guests, become characters too.

I hope it changes. I know there was a video that showed guests far off in the distance and there was speculation about that. Planet coaster type people will be fine, I find it jaunting that the guests basically look like they work there hence I think/hope theyre just placeholders.

I got the impression it was because the park was in the early stages, so it would predominantly be employees until more attractions got introduced.

I know right?

I know they are cloning Dinosaurs there. But guests as well? A lot of them looked the same. It was less like a park and more like some freakish cult where everyone dresses and looks the same.

I can see where they're going with this, like in JPOG with the different visitor types (and models to associate with each type). I, for one, think it's a good idea to further differentiate the three paths. But, they definitely need more models. Here are a few of my ideas:
- Science: Scientists in lab coats (which they have right now), Paleontologists that maybe dress like Doctor Grant (bandanna, hat, and button down), college professors in suits maybe?
-Security: ACU troops and rangers (which I think we've seen), Soldiers and Mercenaries (InGen Mercs from the movie?) from differing countries in their corresponding uniforms (Which I think is interesting because I believe Lambert indirectly mentions the dinosaurs are potential weapons)
-Entertainment: Just regular tourists lol, nothing special, jeans, khakis, Hawaiian shirts

Remember that there's over 2 months until the game is released, what was shown in the videos was in a development build. However, I think that the guests/employees will always look the same despite their being over 2 months left for the developers to work on stuff.

I suggest limiting the number of scientists, ACU/military types and entertainment people allowed on the island. We don't need to see whole lines of scientist flooding down the paths and we don't need to see uniform clad ACU types marching down the paths like Soldiers on parade. I mean how many of these staff types do we really need? I suspect not many. They should be sprinkled in. I suspect this is a problem cause by the system they are using where your park can swing heavily towards science entertainment and security.

What we should see a lot of is guests. Regular people. I know it's impossible to make each guest and staff member look different but at least make enough variety so it doesn't look like a bunch of clones or some Dinosaur island cult.

Clothing color for the guests can help. Like two people wearing the same shirt but one is white and the other is blue.

I like this idea to differentiate but I really want to see guests predominantly.

Worst thing about the gameplay footage.

They looked awful and the ai was terrible.

I hope with it been a tutorial that the first Island isn't open vto public and it's like a test park with the others having actual guests who look different.

Can't be that hard to program half a dozen different sprites and give them a randomised shirt color or something.

I agree!

I still think there's nothing to worry about TBH this gives frontier lots of feedback and they'll hopefully notice everything we suggest in these threads. However it said clearly ''Development Build'' in the top right of the screen when we watched the gameplays...so the development of the game isn't even finished... this whas basically a beta version of the game :)
