The Hunt For Theta Seven - You Could Win 750,000,000 Cr!

I went back to the Mudhrid system after the Galnet news article about the destruction of the Sacrosanct and Theta Seven's death. I had to see for myself the wreckage of the Sacrosanct to provide some closure after the intense fighting on the ground at Gupta Industrial in the Battle of Mudhrid. When I flew close to a section of the destroyed ship floating eerily in the dissipating green caustic cloud, I was surprised to hear a repeating SOS in Morse code through my radio transponder. I wonder if there indeed aren't any survivors... Perhaps ACT should cordon the area off and perform a more thorough search.

You can go to Mudhrid and investigate the Sacrosanct's wreckage for yourself to see what you think.

Most likely just an automated distress beacon. Still, doesn't hurt to make a thorough scan for the escape pods of anyone who might have gotten off at the last minute. Might make a good meditative activity for thinking on the calculus of the thing, for those pilots who enthusiastically picked sides in the battle. Letting Theta escape might have saved the lives of those on board the Sacrosanct, but at what future cost?

Just make sure theta seven is not inside an escape pod ;)

wait, Painite good prices are back ?
Probably talking about stacked massacre missions. Which are excellent pay, but a billion in a day would still be a very intense day of gaming.

I heard that megaships damaged by Thargoids have the same SOS audio. It might be a recycled asset.
Not wholly recycled. It's definitely the same green cloud setting as the current Thargoid attack locations, but I think we haven't seen this particular broken-in-half megaship model before.

The ship itself isn't, but the SOS audio might be. It's only what I heard, though, I haven't compared the two myself.

'Kind of wondering whether they had that prefab in store, or assembled it specifically for this event... I suppose the latter could suggest the storytelling in the game is taken a little bit more seriously by the leadership, than being something a small team of stalwarts are begrudgingly allowed to do, as long as they do it on their own time... :p

It looks like a pretty simple edit. The model just got cleanly split at one of the already-existing connections between two sections, definitely wouldn't take too long for the small team in their own time.

Probably would explain the SOS as well. They probably copied the Damaged-By-Thargoids model with all of the sound and animation scripts, edited it to be split in half, and didn't remove or change any of the existing scripts.

Given the finality of the Galnet announcement, I think Theta 7 is gone for real.

I also think he was the Darth Maul of this operation, and we definitely haven't discovered yet who is really pulling the strings here.
There's a lot of unanswered questions. Who was Theta Seven before he took that name, who was his benefactor that gave him the Thargoid tech and dark-comms network, and, assuming it's not the same person, who was his supporter in the Imperial government who broke him out of Serene Harbor?

Its part of the Imperial Senate's (or some subset thereof) plan to finally get rid of Nova Imperium...
