The in-game speed of time has remained unchanged as of release day.

I don't know how you can say its all the same as it was when you have hardly had a chance to play it? How do you know how its fits it? is your assessment based on any evidence or a feeling? Planet zoo Beta no longer exists, Assess on what it is now no on what you think it is

I hope they don't change the time very much or not at all. Some people suggest that 2 hours per game year would be nice.
Um yeah, it would be total fun to wait 50 hours in real time until tortoises mature and be able to get offspring.

To be honest, the last thread that was about this was dominated by one person, and some others kept talking in circles for pages.

That does not mean everybody that read or responded in that thread shares the same opinion.

"Many, many people" is how many excactly?

And Frontier is in no way obliged to listen.

Of a poll I ran, with 159 votes, there were only 2 voters that asked for the same time speed. 41% asked for 10 second days, with the rest asking for other time speeds that were slower than default. Of course this sample size does not represent the entire fanbase but a tiny portion of it- but the pattern shows.

Of course they aren't. But that won't stop me from voicing my opinion.

Tortoises, being one of the longest living animals on Earth, and the longest living species on the game, are a special case. But this won't be the case for all the other animals. I do agree that Tortoises can be annoying to wait for. But I would suggest implementing a mechanic that allows you to re-house animals at any age, if you need to get rid of them. For a price, of course. But once your tortoises grow up, they can be an everlasting staple of your zoo. I'd say they are worth the wait.

Polls are misleading (2016 :p)
Most people only vote on a poll when they care about that subject.. Or don't vote on user made polls...

Since we don't know how many people played the game during beta, the 'majority' is still debatable.. And a lot of people bought the standard edition..

Agreed, the vocal majority on this forum seem to agree on a slower time.

Its rediculus becaus the seasons in a temperate biome change so fast. wow it so much not fun i stopped playing after like 10 minutes.

Well for this specific issue, I would recommend turning off weather- so you won't have to wait for any changes to time. But I guess I understand if you want weather- the rain and snow are gorgeous in-game after all.

yea, but i was really thinking of seasons as fun, also in terms of management, but right now its really rediculously fast if you fast forward to earn money...

True, but until Frontier asks the fanbase itself what they want, they're the closest we've go. I encourage Frontier to please run a poll on this to their fans, if they want to. So they could get an even better, and more accurate outlook on this issue.

I see, that makes sense. I haven't tried the temperate map, but it seems like a lot of fun to go through seasons, and them going so fast really does seem ridiculous.

Frontier would have to actively promote a poll and it would be required for all players to participate in order to get an accurate picture of what the general opinion about this subject is. I personally don't see that happening.

But you will still have the same problem.. People don't care / care less when they don't experience it as an issue.

Perhaps both on the forum, steam, or even in-game could gather a lot of responses, if they really wanted them.

159 out of 22.000 users.

Says enough.

I won't because we are not allowed here.

And I don't see the added value of having only 1% of the total user base responding to it.

Asking every player about a subject doesn't give any useful information as most players just play the game as presented and don't even think about the underlying mechanics.

Expecting large changes from how the beta version worked is unrealistic and generally not done in the gaming industry. Real changes only come with "content" patches, months after the games release as they need months to be tested and implemented.

A beta version is just marketing. You don't beta test with no control over the variables with a mass of players. You only advertise the game like that and check for stability issues.
