The in-game speed of time has remained unchanged as of release day.

I do not want the default speed changing whatsoever, but give players a option a slower speed so they can enjoy building and management together, Not everybody wants to use default stuff and blueprints. I have no desire to play Sandbox Mode or even Challenge Mode, I know it is going to take me a while to get my franchise Zoo up and running to time constraints and other games,

There’s two other posts about speed, one in feedback, and one in feedback suggestions where I both commented agreeing to this.

The speed is way too fast it hurts the overall pace of the game. My zoo hit year 8 before I have barely even done anything. Which in turn the animals are having too many babies (they have normal amounts but because of speed it seems like they have them non stop), and my exhibits are getting over run before I can even finish my next exhibit. In turn i also believe this is part of the reason zookeeper issue is there. They can’t keep up and neither can we.

If people somehow enjoy this?? They can play on speed 3. But please slow down the game speed overall, it is way too fast and is ruining the game.

Agreed. I had very high hopes for this game, I even preordered it which is something I very rarely do. The game does look incredible, the building tools especially are out of this world. But the current game speed prevents me from getting any enjoyment out of it in the end. It should be reduced to 1/3 of the current speed, at least.

I do not feel like I'm taking care of a zoo, nor can I get attached to the animals at the speed they come and go. I feel like I am running some shoddy animal breeding farm for the purpose of quick profit only, where the animals which should be the main focus are nothing but disposable tokens.

Interesting thread. Hits on something that has been occurring to me increasingly as I've played PZ over the last week.

I find I play the game almost entirely on Pause. I do all my extensive building, landscaping, preparing, admin and management with the game paused. Occasionally I'll unpause and Play, and watch things unfold, address issues, send animals to Trade Centre if there is overpopulation/fighting, then go straight back to Pause for another long stretch of issue resolution, redesign, more building, landscaping, prep work, admin and management. Then unpause and Play for a brief period before pausing again.

Rinse and repeat.

I'm sure this is not how the game is intended to be played.

The game does indeed work far, far too fast. Everything needs to slow down. I would not be able to cope happily without having to pause - I'd have no time to extend the park and build new areas and habitats.

I don't mind taking the Pause/Play/Pause approach, I've become used to it, but overall it would be much more enjoyable experience if the game continues to play while I have time to build and extend and redesign.

Another voice here to Frontier then to please slow down the pace of the game.

Game is too fast. Way too fast. Ruins the experience. Less management, more simulation please. I want to watch animals having deep and intricate interactions and build really cool zoos, not micromanage the genetics of animatronic frogs. You made a really cool game, for a completely different target audience and I think that is my ultimate frustration. I love zoo games, but this one has too many unfun micro-managey things layered in and not enough love for the animals. A proper zoo game has animals you can watch for hours, and keepers that will keep them alive without micromanagement. I want to watch my creations run like well-oiled clockwork, but this game isn't set up to allow that because you're constantly micro-managing something.

Has Frontier made any comment about this yet since launch? I've been looking forward to the game for months but am not buying it at the moment because I've watched streams and agree the game is way too fast. If Frontier could just comment one way or another it would be great.

Okay, not really one for complaining, and this is a minor thing, but now my zoo is getting bigger, I wish there was a half speed button. I find myself pressing pause an awful lot to get anything done before starting again.

I feel comfortable at the lowest speed now. For emergency situation I do have to use pause but once everything is stable I generally speed up the simulation. I would prefer the normal gameplay speed remains the same.

Still nothing that I know of, unless you count this response to a Steam review: https://steamcommunity.com/id/191919333/recommended/703080
Not sure if they've said anything different elsewhere since release but I'd love to know if they have.

I could go on one hell of a rant about how disingenuous and frankly insulting that response is... buuuut I shouldn't, so I'll just let it speak for itself. Unbelievable. 😕

Please, Frontier, at the very least acknowledge that this has not "indeed" been addressed. I want and have tried SO hard to love this game; I expected I'd be playing it for years to come... but as it stands I can't even be certain I'll ever pick it up again after one week.

Have a look at this thread & post. They don't intend to do anything else, in their eyes and opinion we're wrong and they're right.

Apparently, it's 'fixed' and Frontier are done addressing this, only intending to fine balance breeding & longevity.

I think the time-scale problem has been blown out of proportion. I too thought it was the problem, but after further evaluation I think it's just the insane breeding rates that are to blame. These animals breed so fast that you have to give literally every animal contraceptives and as soon as you turn a pair off, poof, pregnant! Breeding in a zoo is serious business that is cause for consternation and celebration. In Planet Zoo its literally become a nuisance. I don't think that was the intention and I think it's led a lot of people to think the time-scale itself is to blame.
I hope they don't listen to the fans and instead just fix the breeding rates.

I think that this is ALSO a problem that I hope they fix.

But I still think time is not right. Breeding doesn’t affect things like animals dying before I could watch them for a couple of minutes or fences being constantly at red despite a revision every month; but yet these are clearly problems to me.

That is a very clever idea ofc, not to listen to the players/customers that are complaning about the speed since ages? (i am new to the game, but i read about that months even before the game was released), and instead "fix" something that is not broken and was just adjusted after massive beta-feedback the way it is now, because you say so.
I am sure they will do the right thing.

While the time is not bothering me personally (i pause all the time anyway), i think the best solution is simply to implement
a slower timesetting.
If you call it "default" or "slow" afterwards doesn't matters crap.

Its not necessary to take away the now default speed from the people who like it.

+1 I think the slowest speed needs to slow way down, middle speed needs to be what the slow speed is currently, and high speed can stay the same.

I 100% disagree. I have mostly been playing on the middle speed and have still been waiting a while for animals to breed and their offspring to mature. Sure, add a slower speed option. But, DON'T change what is already in place!
