The incoming Thargoid Invasion according to an AI.

So I asked DALL-E 2 what it thought the Thargoid Invasion would look like and it came up with this.
Has anyone else had any fun asking for space or Elite themed AI images?

Although to me the second one looks more like a thargoid homeworld.

Prompt was literally "The Incoming Thargoid Invasion."

It's just that the model is trained on internet images. I doubt Thargoid ranks very highly on the frequency scale, TBH.

I saw that a few AI images were recently submitted to some art show, and won. I thought that was pretty funny.

I tried "Elite Dangerous Thargoid incoming invasion" and this is what came out... I don't think the AI has a concept of what Elite dangerous or a thargoid is... It did get the genre right, but I guess that was just "incoming Invasion"

It was in the digitally manipulated art category and he manipulated the AI images before submitting... so... yeah, AI raises many questions and will sure make us rethink many aspects of our lives.

I find it interesting that at the moment you have AI that can come up with decent images based on a few words basically for free, and at the other extreme you have the NFT bros who will sell you an extremely generic and derivative pic for lots of $$$.

Me, too... One is at the cutting edge of science research while other is at the forefront of socially engineered ponzi schemes, just like crypto and Chinese real estate but with a much faster turnaround/hodler burn rate.

Those actually look pretty close. 8 sides. The last one almost looks like the original 84.

Oof.. It does indeed look more Guardian than Thargoid...

Wow, it's clear that Dall-E Mini is trying to synthesise the cockpit. Impressive stuff.... I am disappointed that Dall-E 2 has no impression of ED at all considering last year's AI was so close to rendering something meaningful.

I love the space tardigrade invasion by the way... Those things would be unstoppable...
