It was mentioned in the Newsletter, and on the stream David mentioned that it was similar in size and purpose to the Type 6, but tougher with better weapon hardpoints (not sure if that means size or placement or both). Has ANYONE heard about this ship, as this announcement came out of left field?

yep that's how they described it, "an armed trader", since it's a Lakon it will certainly have a good agility and jump range i guess

Armed trader = may well be good for exploration, also. T6 is famously good for this as well.

Been doing a lot of the smuggling/transport missions, I could see the need, especially with the HUGE surge in interdictions. Was flying a stripped DBX, bit it's gotten a bit hairy these last few weeks.
