the language

I have to say that I have been quite surprised by the level of error in the use of the English language - particularly in the GalNet news reports, but also in other areas such as the missions and Galaxy data. I guess these (GalNet) are written hastily since you need to publish a couple of reports every day, right? But surely it would not be too much to ask that the articles be passed by a professional editor? There must be at least one on staff surely? If not that then there must be some people on staff who love language and would be only too willing to glance over them - it would only take 5 minutes. Several staff members have actually written books - is that right? Surely they have enough command of the language to be suitable candidates? I know it is not a big thing to people these days but I really feel that the language should be treated with respect. Plainly the text is not even passed through a spellchecker (not that I like those things but ...) since here's an example from today - "causalities".

Come on guys - surely you can do better!

English is an evolving language!

Its the thirty-plus century, so expect spellings that are not the same as this century's.

:D
