General / Off-Topic The Lego thread

I thought it might be a bit of fun to have a thread for us to discuss lego and have links to useful sites and the creations of various forum members.

Please reply to this thread if you've got something you've made, bought, news, have something you want added to this front post or if you've got any questions or tips or just want to discuss lego with other fans.

The final vote for the Lego 90th anniversary set theme has been put up on ideas.
The choices are:
Bionicle
Classic Space
Pirates
Castle.

Over the past couple of weeks there has been a vote to determine which them should be represented by the 90th anniversary set. Bionicle managed to garner a lot of support (presumably from a bunch of 20 something Americans) however space & castle were listed in to their sub themes which split the vote.

Link to vote here (you'll need to lig in to vote) : https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09...8d6/post/6c5a05b4-e29c-47ec-8841-a2bce1f8933e

I'm going classic space due to the historical connection with minifigs and I collect it however I'd be happy with anything (that's not the charity shop stalwart, bionicle) over the grinning muppet Benny from the terrible film :D

I started small with a MOC I found of a Sidewinder (I didn't find any Eagle, unfortunately).

I did a few adjustments to increase stability (because WOOOSH! - I have kids) and because I didn't have all of the parts, but it came out nicely:
Great plan with the adjustments for stability, swooshing it is a vital part of playing with it!
(Obviously this would be a bit tricky for flimley and his falcon, but where there's a will there's a way :D )

Now that I give it some thought, this is another advantage of Space Engineers. I should be able to easily replicate any of my ships using real-world LEGO blocks!!! :D

Granted, I'd probably need a special "NASA" LEGO set for things like thrusters..

I’m Sorry for the derailment but this thread has made me go look at the king of construction; Meccano.
I'm off to look at the options

didn't know there was a lego thread here. I'm currently working on a smaller krait that peeps can actually afford. it has a bunch of features that ill reveal when I finish the instructions.
How about one at the regular Lego Spaceman scale?

Maybe a Sidewinder or Cobra mk III would be more feasible. But Krait would be grate! :D
