I really couldn't read the op on my phone, The Day the World Turned Dayglo by X-Ray Spex comes to mind, judging by the comments, I didn't miss much

The green really is horrible. And killstealing from teammates in team deathmacht? What? Its team deathmatch, dosn't matter who kills the enemy.

+1 on green is not nice reading.

I really like CQC. I only play FFA really as i generally am playing on my own - if i am in a group i hope to try T DM at some point. i played it once and it was great.

No issues personally ever finding a game in FFA, and in that i would say kill stealing is par for the course, annoying when it happens, but i do what i can to get a kill so i take as many as i lose on that front.
in team DM there is no i in team, and better imo for sustained multiple fire on an enemy to finish them off asap so you can move onto the next target.

I suppose ultimately I am just not that competitive. i have no problem with a team mate getting the final shot,

never managed to get in a game of capture the flag however, mainly because if i am waiting for more than 2 mins i give up.

PvP in ED is only going to happen for me in CQC so with that in mind, i hope FD continue to support it and flesh it out. we really need to see those CQC assets in the main game asap however so that it is not wasted dev time, after all the main game is the meat and veg of elite, CQC is just some nice dressing on top.

CQC is a fail.
They should give us some real pvp in main game but no they gave us a second game so coled CQC. Why they dident invest time and money from cqc in proper instances and some real pvp in elite dangerous ?

It has been said many a time elsewhere that great things take time and come in steps.

Donjuan has a wonderful post elsewhere about how game development is layered like a cake.

As for myself, as someone whom has played games for a while, CQC is fun, like PvP Elite Dangerous candy. There is a glass elevator scene in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where one kid remarks why is everything here so pointless, Charlie replies that is why its candy, candy does not have to have a point.

Play CQC for the PvP, play CQC to get better verses the NPCs in the main game, play CQC for the permit, play to release some stress from exploring, trading, school, work, but play and have fun.

What about the PvP that just happens around the game such as in warzones , powerplay and pirates vs anyone?

CQC was always going to have limited appeal being separate from the main game, it is fine as a limited arena game but that's as far as it goes.

IMHO it was a waste of developer time and effort and have always said as much. Now they have decided to sell it as a standalone they have little choice, but I am certain it will become a mill stone around the developers necks, and a choice they will come to regret. ED has a ten year plan, and I cannot see how they hope to keep propping up cqc without draining additional developer resources, it sure as hell wont make enough money on its own to cover support and development costs, and their continuing efforts to prop up interest by injecting cash prizes is a sham.

Git gud.

Seriously though, why not adapt and use the tactics you claim to see other people using? If you want a one-on-one fight, CQC isn't the place for it.

People steal my kills all the time. I compensate by being a chicken turd and running away and turning round when I've got some cover. You'd be surprised how effective it is!
