If I correctly understood what was going on - you're talking about the ships / stations of games that you can do yourself.

a little sarcasm but mostly serious, if you look at the KS for Elite Encounters card models get a prominent mention.

Frontier would have reached an agreement with one of these brands. It would be extra glue and paint and then put the entire collection on the shelf.
There may also have different scales for the same model.
Frontier will be so many of us ask
