IIRC the Sidewinder has the most powerful x and z translational thrusters in game. (According to a spreadsheet somewhere that compared these things. )
I genuinely find the Xtreme to be the funnest ship in game
Same for me, but within the context of the game, I err on the side of the Vulture.
Courier. My combat Courier boosts 851 and can handle anything but Wing Asssassinations.

I don't know what you mean by the Xtreme, is that someone's specific build?
My favourite ship! Whatever else I purchase, I always end up getting the Cobra back outBut for a ship to spend some time in travelling & doing things, Cobra MkIII. Feels to me like the game was designed to be played in that ship

My squadron founder (as it has a somewhat hippie commune of space druids I feel the word leader is inappropriate though he’s a beacon of knowledge) often flies a Courier when we wing up, and it certainly looks good! Probably helps that he makes it all look so easy as well, we’re often a mismatched pair with my fat ol’ Keelback when bounty hunting or warring; I’ll have to ask him what his outfitting is on of these days. As a thoroughly independent pilot I’m stubbornly refusing to earn any faction ranks though so I’ll just have to fly it vicariously through you lot

Viper gets my vote. Either one.
I was quite liking my shiney new Mamba before I took a break from the black to play some jrpg. It's jump-range is pretty terrible, but it's a pretty good mid-sized fighter. Faster and more manouverable than the FDL, though IIRC a bit less on either the firepower or shields. Gotta be careful when clicking the FA off button else you go into a pretty dizzying spin.
While this one does look pretty sleek, isn't that one of the Imperial hangar-launched fighters?
