The New AI is Too Good! I'm back in an Cobra After Loosing Python 3 Times in 3 Days!

Lost my Python three times in as many days in fights with AI Pythons with backup. Now I am running from fights in a cobra hoping to find a station close by with an Asp Explorer. Need to earn enough credits to take the Python back out of the hanger. Went from enjoying the game to evading interdictions and running from everything.

sorry to hear it.
I am still winning against AI's in my Python, with "expected" losses and difficulties, but I am still winning.

I like the improved AI myself. when it is a turkey shoot, it's no fun (IMHO).

It has become good fun though?

It is really the time to choose our battles; when to stand and fight and when to run.

On the plus side: Cobra IS king!

Be afraid be very afraid :p More upgrades to come.

On a more serious note what loadout you using, are you in a trading Python with minimal shields or are you in a combat Python and just biting off more than you can chew?

AI Pythons + backup sounds like assassination missions, usually a python + vulture or viper x 1 or 2. Yeah, would be very interested to know what spec python OP was running. I lost mine to a python assassination mission when I first got it, kind of underestimated the AI, but mostly due to the low combat rank required for the mission and the low pay-out. After sinking another 60 or so million into my Python since then though I don't have any issues with them any more lol.

My ship was destroyed the first time last night...in months.
I fly a fully kitted Vulture..was bounty hunting and took on a wanted Python in a wing with 2 Vipers. I handled the Python alright...but the Vipers must have been targeting my drives...still had shields when I heard "thruster malfuntion"...I tried to repair...probably waited too long to start the repair sequence.
In short, I lost about a mil in saved bounties and almost a mil in insurance costs.
I really love the NPC upgrade...keeps me on my toes on every encounter.

I too love the improved AI, and the fact that I now sometimes have to turn tail and run when the fight gets too hot, or I bite more than I can chew. Like it was already said, the previous NPCs were sitting ducks and absolutely no challenge at all. Now it is way better.

On the other hand, I think that the (much) increased amount of interdictions is a little exaggerated (its like half the universe are now pirates) and just does not seem "natural", breaking the immersion, especially on the major factions "home systems". The major factions capital systems are by far the most dangerous for the faction pledgers, and that just seems weird.

I would prefer less frequent interdictions (like before 1.3) but more dangerous (like they are now).

"I enjoyed game while blasting AI to pieces and then complaining on forums how it's too easy or too boring...now AI blasts me to pieces and I am still complaining on forums how it is too hard."

This is how it sounds to me now.

Is there any need to troll the guy? I see no evidence of him ing about the game being boring or too easy, never noticed his name crop up in any previous threads of the like.

Personally I like the more challenging AI and look forward to it becoming even more so. That said I can understand some people finding it daunting. SJA has reassured us that the easy npc will be even easier although the tough guys will be scarier. OP.. take this as a chance to improve on your combat skills and perhaps find more effective ship loadouts for your Python in future.

Don't you nerf that AI Sarah. You are still IMO the goddess of AI

I totally agree.
I feel Sarah is the Dev that connects with the player base the best out of all their crew.
I see her constantly on these forums communicating with her player base. I think the other devs could really learn from her connection with the community.
If her peers would just do the same...this game would pass the awesome mark in my eyes.

Welcome to Elite DANGEROUS. Does what it says on the box.

Totally this. Sandro used to make a lot of good posts but can understand how some devs either can't say much or simply don't feel like engaging with the forum community given how acerbic people can be. SJA does also have a somewhat 'safe' role, in that most of us want improved AI and it's not a question of 'good content vs bad content' or anything of the like.

I never directly pointed out to him. It's just a general observation of how gamers treat ideas of gameplay balance, good or bad gameplay, etc.

There's always someone complaining because reasons.

I am in a python and find the low intensity war zones too much of a challenge but the interdictions are ok I think.

It was too easy before, so if it is now dangerous then cool.

Another thumbs up for the AI changes here (not admonishing the OP, just adding an opinion if the AI gods (Goddess) are looking ;) )
