The new" Elite " rankings

Hi I was wondering what would have been the justification of the the lore breaking Elite i-v ranking .
As a triple Elite player for 3 years I was a little surprised at the news and now it seems that even though I hit the top 1% 😂, I seem to be at a disadvantage now ? With all my work since getting triple not being counted .
Any CM's able to answer ?? I have asked on streams to no avail . Many thanks

I suppose it's an alternative to my preferred strategy, massively increasing the requirements to get to Elite in the first place.

Lets face it, the reqs for Trade Elite are vastly too low now. You can get it in like an hour. Back in the day, it took like 300 hours of play.

The new Trade Elite 5, assuming it doubles for each rank, will take you... 30 hours? Not quite enough, but I'll take it.

Well, naked grinding of a number that has absolutely no effect on the game world or your commander (or achievements in more modern terms) is nothing new. There is even a ~20 years old "game" named Progress Quest that mocks that aspect of video games.
