The new Queen VI - Pirates found in system Kinesi near Colonia

There is something big circling Kinesi 5 with high velocity. It is impossible to keep up in normal cruise. I am trying to enter its gravity field but I keep failing. There are also a lot of angry pirates that are killing me

I managed to scan the sattelite which is close to the station.

What is this? Anybody got some tips on what to do?

Looking for 25 escape capsules btw. Any tips?

Get an Imperial Courier or 900 m/s Viper.

Either way it's a good discovery, mysterious and spooky - I hope it's like the Event Horizon.
It's probably a freak of the Stellar Forge engine if no ship can catch it.

I do not manage to get into the gravity field. Maybe I need more skills.
When you drop out of supercruise there is so little time to turn the ship or get it aligned. From the other side you are always behind when you drop from supercruise.

It is also very close to the surface of the planet

VI could be the Roman numerals for 6, or it could be a short form for 'Virtual Intelligence,' a limited AI. Maybe.

Can you do the "Mitterand Hollow" trick - rather than trying to catch up with it, get ahead of it in its orbit and let it come to you?

Good luck - I'll be there myself in a couple of hours.

Option 1: safe, but slow - drive around on planet surfaces looking for mid-band signals on the wave scanner. It'll take you a while to get 25, because most mid-band is cargo rather than pods, but you'll get there eventually.

Option 2: less safe, but faster - rescue them from the megaship wreck near Luchtaine 1 - there's an escape hatch near the front you can hatchbreak, though it takes a while.

Option 3: decidely unsafe, but theoretically fastest - rescue them from one of the Unauthorised Installations at Kojeara 4, Carcosa CD2 or Ogmar B4. One of the cargo holds has a lot of them, plus slaves to rescue.

Option 4: decide that Etienne Dorn is really creepy and doesn't deserve escape pods no matter how many shiny blueprints he has.

Is "VI" just "six" in roman numerals or are those letters? It reminds me of Mass Effect's "Virtual Intelligences" which are basically computer-generated personalities that aren't sophisticted enough to become self-aware AIs. They still can go rogue though. Technocalypse confirmed?

On a more serious note, this could just be a normal asset that's behaving this way due to its placement and the resulting speed attributes when calculated by the stellar forge. Just like the impossibly fast moon the Gnosis was orbiting some weeks ago.

Edit: D'oh, ninja'd on both accounts!

There is also a deserted Anaconda near Kinesi 3 B. The POI has no name in the navigation menu. Four private data beacons are there. Scanning does not seem to work.

@YinYin I need them for the new Enigneer

@Ian Tried that "Mitterand Hollow" Trick.. Didnt work or didnt manage. Will visit the meage ships soon. Thx

Edit: And there are also two empty T9s

I know. That new engineer who considers occupied escape pods the most valuable human traffic salvage.

His invite shall forever collect dust in my inbox. I've got blueprints for what he does pinned. They'll have to do.

The circling structure is a Civilian Installation, it can be scanned, but upon arrival it distances at a fast space away from my ship, without time to scan it!

I've seen a couple of tourist beacons where this happens, I presume because the game instances you in the gravitational field of the wrong body (ie a nearby moon or some such).

Checking the speed it goes at, I think you have about five minutes to catch it, so you need to be able to sustain at least 600m/s.

I'll be back with my racing Eagle...

I went there three times in the last past days as I was not able to catch the gravitational effect of the installation really close to the earth-like world @Kinesi 5 ... it goes rather fast indeed :D

I performed a scan on the installation's satellite, something like 150km + from it. Well ... it does happen sometimes ;)
